add transmission fluid to proper level to much can damage unit also and hope didnt destroy transmission --look for leaks if leaking have repair done --but either way have a filter and fluid changed
No vacuum modulator on this transmission. Even if it did, a bad vacuum modulator only works during the 1-2 shift. It would not affect ability to drive from 0-mph
does your car have a hydraulic clutch just had similar problem on my Jeep had to replace the clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder. you can bleed some clutch master cylinders removing air in system check fluid level full then bleed master cylinder keeping an eye on fluid levels not to run system dry..
refill the oil and see if you can get the engine to turn. Try turning the crankshaft pulley with a socket. If the engine will not turn, it will have to be rebuilt. If you can get it started, locate the oil leak and get back to us. Even if it will start, it may need to be rebuilt--we'll have to see how it runs. :-(
You can use dextron 3 or dextron III ATF transmission fluid. You can get this fluid at any local car parts store in your area. Thanks. you can rate this solution

Check Your Clutch Fluid It Just Like Checking Your Brake Fluid In The Engine Compartment. If Its Low You May Have Got Air In The Line Which Will Cause The Clutch To Feel Empty. Make Sure Its Full Then Get In And Push It 3 times and hold then get out and check it again seeing if its emptied the reservoir. Keep Adding until the clutch feels good again. make sure that after doing so there isn't any dripping off the bottom of the car which would indicate the line need to be repaired.
Next If The doesn't do it with the car off push the clutch very slowly and listen for any kind of suction sound near your feet. sometimes it leaks around the pedal. If you dont have any fluid on the floor board then all should be well.
Then fallow the line all the way to the transmission looking for fluid. It is pretty easy to find as it doesn't dry.
Most vehicles use dot 3 brake fluid but your vehicle may differ check your clutch reservoir cap for specifications on fluid. if it does take brake fluid do not spill it on your paint as it will take it down to the bare metal in no time.
I hope this helpful and look forward to hearing your results if you need more help.
believe it or not, the floormat on my 2000 Sunfire will sometimes slip forward and hold the clutch pedal down against the floor. It truly feels like a mechanical problem, but simply pull the floormat away and the pedal pops right back up!
