I don't have an after market radio, but I do have an after market alarm system, put in by the dealer. So based on this solution, I checked out the alarm system. The module I plug into the fuse box when my remote does not work had a short. Your tip saved me a lot of money and time, God bless you.

Tail light wire

I would check for a bare wire. It will either be that or a poor ground.

I have a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 truck that the brake lights are not working at all. What could it be? Is there a wiring diagram that I can download for free? I need help.

could be a number of things...check the bulbs in the taillights themselves if they are good see if your getting power to the tail lights make sure you have a good ground if your not getting power to the tail lights could be the tail light switch usually mounted on the brake pedal...hope this helps

if it's anything like my f-150, lower the tail gate and there will be screws to remove. however, the owners manual will have the procedure. if you don't have a manual, you can download one at dodge.com

Tail lights and dash lights out in 96 dodge ram. all other lights work. already replaced headlight switch. still no tail lights

does the fuse keep blowing ?? it is also on the same line as the cigarette lighter if the fuse is blowing check that there is nothing stuck in the lighter socket that is shorting it out. Could also be a bad ground wire not makeinig contact.

No tail lights come on with headlights on

Check the fuses. Taillights are independent from the fuses the operate the turn, brake, and reverse lights.

2001 dodge ram 1500. Brake lights do not work.

Do the taillights work? If so it might just be the bulb. If not then the wiring is broke some where or loose.

I need to know the name of the part in my 95 dodge ram 1500 3.9 liter pickup that makes the brake lights work? The fuse is good and the light bulbs are good because the come on when the lights are turned...

Hello there, The name of the part you are looking for is called a brake light switch, Fairly simple to change and relativly inexpensive. It is located behind the top of the brake pedal. Just a thought for you, I would suggest replacing the tail light bulbs first because you can have running lights and turn signals but the brake portion is burnt out.

Good Luck and I hope this helps, Allen

2001 dodge ram 1500 brake lights

I would guess the brake fuse ( this does not use the same fuse as the tail lights/blinkers) or the ground for the brake light bulb.
