Gauge light not on!

Hello all!

Last night when I start my car at about mid night, I notice something wrong. I wasn't sure what, so I walked around my car, all the light were on, and my car sounds like normal. So I got back in the car and shift to R to get out of Park, at that moment I realize I couldn't see anything in the car! That interior light wasn't on! It's like driving at day time. All the turning light shows up when I push up and down. seat belt light comes on when I don't have my seat belt on. The speed gauge light weren't on and the shift stick weren't either! Any idea what went wrong? Also, I own a 09, but I couldn't find a 09 page, so I post this in the 08, shouldn't be too much different...Right?

Have you checked the instrument panel dimmer switch? It is in the center of the cluster, a black round stick. It also resets the trip meters...
Turn this, and the dash lights go dim, and then out. Or, you may have a blown panel fuse.

1997 Oldsmobile Bravada ~ lots of $$ has already been spent to keep it running. Recently became reluctant to start. Generally turn key mid-way twice and then completely turn key and it starts. If try to...

It does sound like a weak fuel pump but you should check fuel pressure before you condem it. You should see readings in the mid 50s to 60 psi key on engine off. The check engine light may be a separate issue. You'll need to find out what code/s are stored in the PCM. A parts store like Autozone can help you with this.

Noticed windows suddenly fog up, temp gauge started to rise. Reservoir was low, added little water last night, added coolant this morning, wet around thermostate housing area. Help

Sounds like the thermostat is defective/seizing up.Remove the two bolts on the thermostat housing and pull out termostat to inspect. You can put it in boiling water to see if it opens for you, the opening temp is stamped on the thermostat. If it does not open or looks suspicious/corroded than replace it, they are cheap $15-20 with the housing gasket.Make sure you didnt do damage to the engine by pulling out your dipstick and make sure the oil is not creamy white.Let me know ifthis helps you or you need further help

At the start of the engine, the fuel gauge reads empty. i know for sure the gas tank is filled up with a decent amount or its full. after afew miles, the gauge slowly moves to its proper reading. i know...

Most cars and truck nowdays show the tank empty when you start it. Then it slowly advances to the correct level of fuel in the tank. You can try and use some fuel additives like Gumout or Valvoline that clean the injectors and other fuel sytem parts. You can get a buildup of tarnish in these parts and this can cause slow readings. If this was the case it should improve after a few tank fulls of gas with the cleaners added. The guage could also slowly be going bad. The newer style guages are connected to the fuel pump and you will need to replace the whole unit if this goes out on you. Keep in mid that when the fuel pump quits, it quits, usually without much advance notice. If the car starts sputtering and does not have full power, this will hint at the fuel pump going bad. If your car has over 100,000 miles on it, you might want to think about preparing to change the fuel pump, these seem to want to go out shortly after 100,000 miles, but you can get lucky once in a while and it can last longer. Keeping your tank at least half full with clean gas is a big help, the gas keeps the fuel pump cool so it last longer!

Temperature gauge is rising when car is not moving

hello, the first things to check are the coolant level make sure you have coolant to the full mark with your car not running, it sounds like you have a bad thermostat most common thing to go out in the cooling system.

1999 FORD ESCORT ZX2 radiator hoses swell and burst

you've got a serious overheating issue creating the pressure. Your temp gauge must be reading hot too.
If not, then you have engine compression pressure getting into the cooling system through a blown head gasket.
Replacing the cap will not help.
