Unfortunately for many of the Jaguar models there is only one fuse for all the functions of each seat. The fuse locations can be found in the electrical section of the owners manual or Roadside emergency service section of the Vehicle Care Manual. In a 2000 XK8 the fuse for the drivers seat is fuse #1 (20A) located in the drivers side fascia fusebox (at left end of instrument panel). Not sure if it was changed from 1997 but doubt it.
Had problem of seat fuse blowing on XJ8 every time the headrest adjustment was attempted (shorted motor). Very tiring to deal with but be aware if fuse continues to blow you might have a motor or wiring problem. Good luck.
owners manual..... the box lid will give you the numbers but will not tell you what one is what and what it does...... you can join all data online and purchase all the info for ya specific car and it is in there also..... or go to helm manuals and purchase ya own electrical wiring diagrahm
I ran into this issue with mine. To get access to the back fuse box, obviously the top cannot be in the trunk. You will have to take it to a mechanic who I believe can override the fuse and get the top out of truck gaining access to the fuse box. I ran into the same situation where my whole convertible system was actually shut down, nothing worked. I took it in and got it fixed, but that is about the only solution, sorry.
This is a VERY common problem with these xk convertibles. The most common is the fluid thickens up and the motor has trouble moving the top up and down. What you have to do is perform a convertible fluid flush, which is a pretty difficult task. Jaguar has updated fluid for this flush but it cost like 90 buck a quart, luckily you only need one but its pretty labor intensive. If your look at a dealership to perform this repair is pretty expensive.

If you disconnect the battery you must reprogram both windows by holding the button down until you hear it chime takes about 5 or so seconds. Repeat for the other window and this should solve the problem. This information should be in your owners manual, it is in mine
