Try the fuel presure regulater it should be on the fuel rail ( that is if it is the V-6 ) it hasone vacum line on it and it has i think like 6 screws holding it in. it will cause just that same problem it will also cause it to flood at idle and foul plugs and make it idle rough you may have to chage the plugs also. you might check the vacum to. it should run on stright vacum from the intake.

Have you checked for vacuum leaks ?

Spray a small amount of starting fluid around all suspected areas and if it revs up that's where you leak is.

You are not getting fuel. EIther bad fuel pump or plugged fuel filter. No fuel pressure and it starts for a second with starting fluid, then there is no fuel being pumped to fuel lines.

Idol runs fast after starting vehiicle

the idle air control valve is stuck,or there is a vacuum leak.check the vacuum lines, the throttle cable is not sticking and the idle control valve which is on the side of the throttle body and the throttle position sensor.check all the plugs on these for a good connection.

1985 fiero been having problems getting in gear. Now wont turn over starter. New starter didnt fix problem. Dont know if 2 problems are related. Can push start.

Have same car, same problems, easy solutions.

Getting into gear has been improved by putting in neutral with engine running to warm up fluid. The Fiero has very little room in the pedal area. I'm shifting a lot better with smaller shoes.

The problem with starting may well be related to the same issue. There is a neutral safety starting switch. If you're not pressing hard enough on the clutch - starter won't run. According to the Fierostore.com stock clutch pedals tend to bend. They sell a stronger replacement.

My Fiero has been starting just fine the last few days. The last time it didn't I was wearing boots.

I've almost always been able to get it to start using a booster battery, but Walmart's tester indicates that the battery and charging system are fine. It recommends tightening connections. I did this, but still had problems for a while.

Fiero idles but stumbles on acceleration

to me this sounds like your ignition timeing is off because of the hard start and the no power when accelerating. I would definently check the timing out on it
