Question about 1991 Toyota Camry

1 Answer

Turn signals I have a '91 Camry. The back turnj signals work, however the front ones won't. I can hear the flahing unit clicking, so I know it works. Also when the four-way hazard lights are flashing, the back ones flash, but the front ones don't. Anyone have an idea of where to start? Thanks, Jim

First check the bulbs then start at the wiring behind the bulb holders with a test lamp

I got a 91 ford my turn single won't but 4 way work I think it brake

there are 2 flasher units for these. one for the hazard flashers and one for the turn signal flasher. they look the same and in the same general area. turn on the 4 ways and look for the unit that is making the clicking noise then you will know what the signal unit looks like. look for the other unit this will be the one you want to change.

Turn signal light right flash

flasher/blinker is busted. this is located under your dash board. remove steering column cover, turn on LEFT turn signal (yes, the one that is working), then you will hear a clicking sound. locate the relay that causes the sound. there you can see 2 relays (one for LEFT, other one for RIGHT turn),replace busted one.

95 Camry Electric Door Locks Won't Work

It could still be the relay, if the solenoid is working but the contacts are faulty. There are also several other places in the circuit which could cause this. Follow the diagnostics from p90 on, here

Can a turn signel work for about 15 seconds and then stop? or could it be the relay?

the flasher unit is probably worn out.there is a bi-metalic metal strip that gets tired and won`t expand and contract making the clicking noise you hear when the signals are in use.it stops expanding and contracting causing the flashers to stop working.change the flasher unit but make sure you changing the one for the signal flasher and not the hazards flasher as they look the same.to know which one turn on the hazards and look for the other flasher that is not making a noise as this will be the one for the signals.

My left turn signals don't work.you can hear the clicker working normal and the courning lite come on. If you leave the signal switch on the turn lite will flash once in a while and also the lite on...

You most likely have a bad bulb, if the front bulb goes the rear wont work and vise versa both bulbs must be good to complete the cirrcut. Even though you have no lights you should still hear the flasher relay. Bulbs are cheap just replace both and you'll be good to go. Good luck

Why won't turn signals work in my 91 camry after replacing burnt out blub in left front

You may have burned the fuse. It is located in the fusebox in the engine compartment, behind the battery. Always disconnect the battery negative terminal whenever you are about to work on anything electrical.

Problem solved, Since 3 of the 4 turn signals worked I did not fuse was a problem
but after checking the turn swithch, I pulleded out the fuse which looked ok, but when
I put it back in all the turn signal lights woked! Apparently just one part of the surface
of the fuse was corroded.
