Drivers side power window inoperable

All other windows work. How do I trouble shoot if it's the switch or the motor? Are there more than one window motors? Where are they located?
Are there multiple power window fuses?

thanks,
Randy

If they go down but not up. Replace the master switch on the drivers door. 3 don't usually die at they same tie unless it is that switch.

Drivers rear window will not go up or down, stuck half way up

Remove the door panel, and disconnect the plug for the window motor. Using a test light, see if you are getting power to the plug while operating the switch. If you are, I'd replace the window motor. Being that neither the master switch and the switch on the actual door aren't working, its a pretty safe bet that its the motor.

Drivers side power window stopped working in my 2001 vw cabrio. all other windows continue to work so i ruled out the fuse. what are the next steps of trouble shooting?

I'd try to see if I could hear the window motor working.
Otherwise, I'd remove the door panel and take a voltage reading at the window motor.
If ya have voltage, then we're looking at a window motor or a window regulator.

Hope this helps...

Rear drivers side window inoperable.

if you don't hear the motor it's probably got a short or bad switch. If the motor runs and the window doesn't move you have a damaged gear.
