Jack the rear of the car up as high as you can, be sure to use jack stands of some type to support the weight safely. The fuel filter is usually mounted just in front of the gas tank.
it takes a ( #17 wrench I think) to loosen the fuel lines, a little fuel will leak out so have something to catch or wipe up the mess. Filter cost about $25.00 dollars. Have fun

Try replacing the instrument cluster dimmer knob to the left of the steering wheel. It has been the cause on a couple of my samurais

91 sidekick engine won't start, fuel pump relay replaced and working, fuel pump not running

Check for power at the fuel pump, I've seen these have a bad connection for the fuel pump in a connector behind the left rear taillight. If that connection is good and you have power and ground to the pump when you cycle the key or crank the engine, then replace the pump.

My jeep jerks auto 4 door

The cheapest solution is to check the fuel injectrors (use good fuel injectro cleaner). If no help check the distributor cap (best is replace), wiring (replace), spark plugs (replace). In most cases the reason is distributor cap. If no help check the fuel filter and fuel pump
Good Luck
