Fuse box diagram (location and assignment of electrical fuses) for Toyota ... of electrical fuses) Toyota Camry / Vienta (XV20; 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001).
That will be a V6. The water pump is behind the timing belt, which has to be loosened and pushed aside. You may as well replace the belt as well. See here p320
I suspect that your fuel system is faulty. Check for a clogged fuel filter, or if your fuel pump don't run at all, replace the "fuel pump relay". Fuel pump may be faulty. Sometimes your fuel pump will run, but be too weak to hold pressure, which will let your car idle somewhat, but be too weak to run the engine at speed or under load.
Have the fault codes read before wasting time and money guessing what has failed. Replace with genuine items only as aftermarket units are not always compatible with the settings in the CPU. Check that the cat converter is working properly
Do you have a Service Engine light on? If so then the first thing to do would be check for any codes.
May also have a fuel delivery problem. Need to check fuel pressure when the key is turned on and the 10 seconds it will run. If it has a fuel filter has it ever been changed? I seem to recall though Camrys with non servicable filters but don't quote me on that.
this is just a shot in the dark, but wiggle the wires on the top of the air filter canister...i had this same problem (though i never got in to check if the engine plugs) after I changed the air filter.
I had started to take that sensor off bove the air filter because i thought i had to, turns out i didn't need to do that. I put the air filter in, and my car wouldn't start...I unscrewed and screwed back in the tiny screws that hold that plug into the top of the airbox sensor thing (no idea what it's called)...and wiggled it around and it started fine again.
check the engine mounts and drive shafts for play in them. think on that year it may have a balance weight on a drive shaft check this is not lose, these can cause intermittent vibrations or shudders.
