When you are disconnecting the low pressure switch, or high pressure switch, you are stopping the power going to the A/C clutch. So, that means that your A/C clutch is shorted out. Unplug the compressor, and see if the fuse blows. If it doesn't you need a new clutch or compressor.

My #20 fuse in the engine compartment is blowing, which is a 15 amp fuse

You look up the circuit that blows the fuse in your owners manual

You then need wiring diagrams to figure out why a fuse blows &
solve the problem, you don't replace the fuse, only to have it keep
blowing

Head light, fog, and park lights are out. I think it may be a fuse problem. where is the actual fuse box located and what amp would i need

There is a "power distribution box" located in the engine compartment on the drivers side, On top of the wheel well towards the rear off the engine compartment by the brake master cylinder. It's black and there is a cover over top of the fuses and relays in there. Just look at the instructions printed on the cover on how to remove the cover. The fuse I think you are looking for is in the # 16 position. As you look from the top on the inside of the box from the drivers side (The box will be long ways) it will be the 8th one over from the right in the second row. It will be a blue 15 amp fuse. That fuse is the one for your headlamp and foglamp switches. You may have other problems as there is a reason why the fuse would have blown in the first place if the fuse is blown. I hope you understand the location of where it is and I hope this helped and good luck.

Where is the fuse for dash lights?

Right side of engine compartment is a fuse box. It is a 15 amp mini fuse that is marked tail lights. I cant for the life of me figure out why they put the dash board, head light on alarm, and tail lights on the same fuse

The lift gate will not open with the release switch on the lift gate

I'm hoping you found an answer to this already, but if not, here it is. Try looking at fuse # 16 in the fuse panel under the driver side dash. It should be a blue 15 Amp fuse & it controls the cigarette lighter & lift gate, amongst other things. My guess is that you will find it has popped & needs to be replaced. It's an easy job to do if you have a fuse holder or a pair of needle nose pliers. Out with the old, in with the new. IMHO, this is a poor deign by Lincoln in the fact that the change holder is right next to the cigarette lighter & if you happen to drop a penny or dime into the lighter/outlet, it pops the fuse. This can be a common problem if you don't keep the lighter in there, & use the outlet for cell phone charger, ipod, etc. This has happened to me a couple times, so I bought a small box of fuses & keep them in the glove compartment now, just in case it should happen while I'm out & about somewhere. Hope this helps!...//TJ
