Honda Civc 2004 radio code entered plays for 30 seconds and quits?
I recently replaced my battery and found out about entering codes when your radio doesn't work, I have entered code that was in glovebox of car,
and radio will play for about 30 seconds and shut off? Is this the wrong code or am I doing something wrong? Please Help!!!!
Re: Honda Civc 2004 radio code entered plays for 30...
Not sure? If it is the wrong code it shouldn't work at all? Try leaving the radio on for an hour without doing anything and then re-enter the code. If that doesn't work, contact your nearest Honda dealer.

There have been too many bad radio code entrys and the radio is now locked out. To clear this you must remove one of the battery cables for about 30 seconds. After reconnecting the battery you enter the code for the radio. If the code is incorrect or entered out of sequence you will get an error message. Too many bad entrys and the radio will lock out. Your local dealer sould be able to help with this for little or no expence. If the code is incorrect they can get it for you easily by accessing the radio serial number through the radio itself, without removing the radio. They can use this information on line with Honda to get you the correct code.
Need to reenter the radio code, it's normally located in the glove box or behind the radio itself, once found you should have about 3 tries to enter the code, if more attempts are needed, disconnect the neg battery cable for 5 minutes and retry.
You need to code ..punch in code then power radio up and it will work. For a fee if its the original radio for this car the code can be retrieved by the dealer. If you entered to code incorrectly more than 4 times you will need to disconnect battery for 30 second and re-enter code. good luck and thanks for using FIX YA
If you have tried a few times before NOT entering the right code or making error when entering code. This radio will lock you out, here is what you do disconnect battery cable for 60 seconds (positive cable) or disconnect radio fuse. Then re-enter code make sure that you are pressing firmly on number and make sure that you enter correctly.(POWER ON RADIO SHOULD BE IN ON POSITION WHEN DOING THIS) If this doesn't work then you will need to go to HOnda and fora fee they will be able to get code. Good Luck and thanks for using FIX YA.
two ways of going about this if the code was correct the radio would work so its not the right code you can get in touch with the previous owner see if hes got it or if you bought it off a garage see if they can sort it out or phone your local honda dealer find out if they still have a record of the code they keep records of most details on there cars but may charge you or if all that fails get your local paper find an auto electrian that has the coding device its not all that expencive cheaper than buying a new radio yates210456
