The PCV valve is part of the front valve cover and in order to replace it you have to replace the valve cover.

The MAF sensor is in the air filter housing. The connector is on the top of the housing.

SOURCE: location of the pvc valve

The MAF sensor is in the air intake line just after the air filter.  It will be the part that has some electric plug in it.  Let me know if you need anything else.  Thanks for an honest rating and for using FixYa.

Is a MAF sensor and a MCV the same thing

Im not sure what an MCV is did you mean a PCV? If so the answer is no the pcv valve is the Positive crankcase ventilation valve and is usually located in the valve cover and the MAF sensor is the Mass air flow which is located in the air intake tube they do 2 totally different functions.

I have a PO171 Code. I have replaced both O2 sensors and the MAF sensor. I am sill getting the same code . What else could be the problem?

Change your PCV valve and especially the elbow hose that connects it to the engine. It is hard see, it is on the right side of the engine near the water pump you have to use a longer then average needle nose pliers to get it out. the PVC hose tends to get rock hard from the heat and will cracks around the hole. I think if you check YOU TUBE how to change PVC valve, something will come up. good luck.

Location of the pvc on 2002 buick 3.8?

on the passeger side of the intake plenum there will be a sensor called the MAF sensor. It will have three wires going to it. The PCV valve is under the cover that the MAF sensor mounts to.

Also, where is the pcv valve located?

pcv valves are generally located on top of the engine's valve cover. A tube made of rubber generally goes to it.

2003 ford taurus idle problems had trouble codes

A code P0174 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
  • The MAF (Mass Air Flow) Sensor is dirty or faulty. Note: The use of "oiled" air filters can cause the MAF to become dirty if the filter is over-oiled. There is also an issue with some vehicles where the MAF sensors leak the silicone potting material used to protect the circuitry.
  • There could be a vacuum leak downstream of the MAF sensor. and your solutions are.
    • In the vast majority of cases, simply cleaning the MAF sensor does the trick. Consult your service manual for it's location if you need help. I find it's best to take it off and spray it with electronics cleaner or brake cleaner . Make sure you are careful not to damage the MAF sensor, and make sure it's dry before reinstalling
    • Inspect all vacuum and PCV hoses, replace if necessary
    • Check for a dirty fuel filter and proper fuel pressure
