That could happen because they are getting too hot......check for any means of resistance in the wiring or check for possible bad ground to the ignition system. and replace as neccesary

How do I fix miss fire on number one cylinder on a 3.8L engine ford windstar

I recently had a missfire and at the same time I had problems with my windshield washer. It turned out that the washer had a bad hose which was dripping on the plug wire which had problems with the insulating coverage. My missfire was primarily on wet or humid days so a new wire fixed it.

'02 v70 Cylinder misfire

I'm going to assume you have the 5 cylinder non-turbo engine.
You have coil - on - plug ignition which means you have a coil for each spark plug.
The miss could be a plug or coil, the injector, or something mechanical such as a valve.

I have had 3-4 spark plugs crack on the inside insulator on cylinder 3 causing misfire issues. What is a possible solution?

Porcelain usually cracks due to excessive heat. Excessive heat in the cylinder of an internal combustion engine is usually caused by a lean mixture. A lean mixture is quite often the result of a vacuum leak. I would check for a vacuum leak on the #3 cylinder intake runner as well as the intake manifold gasket. You can use spray carb cleaner or propane.

1998 Chevy Silverado K1500, 5.7 , number 5 cylinder keeps fouling the plug with oil. The insulator was broken in half vertically

If the insulator was cracked the plug would have been misfiring, unless it was broken while trying to remove it. If this oil fouling is an ongoing problem, and you have to keep changing the plug, buy a spark plug that is designed to fire when oil fouling is a problem. You may have to order one from a part catalog, such as JC Whitney. This would keep you going until you can get the problem repaired..

Engine light on / runs rough / Sometimes dies Has code p305

Code po305 is # 5 cylinder misfire. Check the spark plug wire and spark plug. use an inline spark tester to check the wire from coil to spark plug. If you have spark, then remove plug to see if it is fouled out. the best time to check for brake or cracked spark plug wiring is at night with engine running and doing a walk around to see if the insulation on wireing is broken or cracked. you will see the wires sparking at night. then replace the wires that are causing the problem.

1987 Ford Crown Victoria 5.0L FI 8cyl

Duraspark Type Plug Wires
The spark plug wires used with the Duraspark type ignition system are 5 / 16 in. (8mm) in diameter to contain the higher output voltage. There are two types of wires used in this system, and some engines may have both types installed. It is important to properly identify the type of wire used for each cylinder before replacements are made.

Both types are blue in color and have silicone jacketing. The insulation material underneath the jacketing on some plug wires is a silicone layer separated by glass braid. The plug cable not incorporating the silicone layer is used where engine temperatures are cooler and are identified with the letter SE with black printing. The plug cables with the silicone insulation are used where high engine temperatures are present. These cables are identified with the letters SS with white printing.
Each spark plug cable, if original, is marked with the cylinder number, model year and date of cable manufacture (quarter and year). Service replacement wires will not have cylinder numbers, or manufacture date.

On any vehicle equipped with a catalytic converter, never allow the engine to run for more than 30 seconds with a spark plug wire disconnected. Unburned fuel in the cylinder may ignite in the converter as it is exhausted and damage the converter.

When removing spark plug wires, mark and tag the individual wires. Grasp, then slowly, twist the insulator back and forth on the spark plug to free the insulator. Do not pull on the wire directly as it may become separated from the connector inside the insulator. Special tools are available which can help ease plug wire removal, and prevent damage to a cable.

When installing a new set of spark plug wires, replace the wires one at a time so there will be no confusion. Start by replacing the longest wire first. Route the wire exactly the same as the original.
