could be time for a new timing set. depends how many miles are on the engine and if something has gone wrong. they don't last forever and the belts need to be change every 75k to 100k to save doing damage to the valves and piston if it were to break. the chains will last a lot longer but still wear out

Noise is coming from the middle dash area, you can hear it inside the cab but engine area seems fine, no noise, this is driving me nuts, it sounds like a loud flapping or banging

Does this happen constantly or only when you have the cabin a/c or heater fan blowing? Do you hear it when the vehicle is running but not moving? I suspect that something fell down into one of the windshield defroster vents and is rattling around inside the blower fan cage.

Turn key, no start, dash dead, but intermittent symptons

First I would look for voltage drop of both end of battery terminal.not a look or seem tight . you have to do it (voltage drop) and terminal at alternator.
now does alternator charging. take voltage of battery
if the problem occur have voltage of battery taken
like I read your problem it looks like wiring terminal ground and positive
the noise you hear is probably low voltage to a relay and the dropping voltage make the relay switch inside relay cycling noise click or buzz

I have a 2007 Mazda 3. When I slow down coming towards a stop sign, I hear a "woo woo woo" sound coming from the right rear wheel area. It is especially noticeable when slowing down and...

It could be a bearing going bad, or the disc is resonating to a frequency that makes the 'woo woo woo' sound.

Autozone has a spray that can reduce noise of disc or drum brakes that sprays on the metal with the caliper removed.

It has little beads that get rid of squeaking noises, anyway.

If your bearing is fine, then I would try that.

Have a noise coming from the back wheel area. Gets worse as you apply the brakes and almost sounds like it needs new pads or have the rotors turned. But I have had it in 3 times and dealer turned the...

There is a product sold by autozone.com called 'DE-SQUEAK' by CRC chemicals that sprays on the brake rotors with the caliper off, and when dry will reduce the squeaky noise of applying brakes.

What does your noise sound like?

Are the tires the right size for the car?

Headlights and interior dash lights flickering mercury marquis

while this occurs; do you hear clicking near your right foot area while sitting in the drivers seat? it may be heard very faint (you may have to remove the sound barrier panel under the dash first. Does this problem only happen with "Automatic" lights? Does it happen while in the parking lamps position? I wish to suggest the light switch itself, or the connector at that switch may be loose, or the negative supplying the switch could be loose. But more likely, you should check for a defective BCM, or loose connections to it, located between the lower left of the ash tray area and the accerator petal area (the relay inside on the circuit board may have a bad solder connection to it) ... or the relay inside is bad period.
