Question about Dodge Pickup
That means your altenator is bad. replace it. the battery just starts the vehicle. the altenater is responsible for energizing the coil. soon as you removed the cable you cut the field the battery only supplys 12 volts however the altenator provides 150 amps for the coil. hope this helps you please rate...thanks

SOUND LIKE A DEAD BATTERY.IF YOUR CABLES VERY OLD REPLACE THEM.ALSO CHECK BATTERY VOLTAGE WITH A DIGITAL VOLTMETER .IT SHOULD BE 12.5 VOLTS.IF BATTERY GOOD .STARTER COULD BE THE PROBLEM.I WARN EVERY BODY TURN OFF RADIO BEFORE REMOVING BATTERY CABLE SO YOU DONT LOSE RADIO CODE.

disconnecting the battery put your theft mode,either use your key and lock all doors then open the drivers door with a key,or check in your book in the glove box how to reset it
