I have a 2002 Saturn SL1. 8 months ago my windshield wipers stopped working in the middle of winter. I got my wiper motor replaced and my wipers worked great! Unfortunately, a couple months ago i noticed they were slowing down to about one speed. I'd hate to have to get another wiper motor and have to buy a couple each year! My dad and I also tried spraying WD40 on them and that had no success. Does anyone know what I can do? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

remove the wiper motor and clean/spray oil...the grease inside is hard already.

Do you hear any kind of noise when you starter the wiper function. If yes then fuse is ok, but issue is wiper motor.

If no movement at all and no noise then its blown fuse or shorted/loose wiper control wiring: -----

the park circuit in the wiper motor is bad, or the live to it is there should be a constant live to wiper motor, if its good replace wiper motor

Take linkage loose and run wiper motor one turn. You've got the motor and linkage "out of time" .

The wipers are parking in the middle because the timing mechanism is off. Once they start doing this it seems to continue to happen so the 1st suggestion is to replace the wiper motor. If U don't want to spend the $ right now it's a pretty easy fix to reset the timing. Park the wipers & remove the wiper arms. Then remove the plastic cowling that covers the wiper motor & the motor assembly. Turn the wiper assembly over without turning the motor. Remove the nut on the arm of the motor. Repostion the arm pointing away from the closet wiper directly inline with the short arm. reassemble.

2002 Windstar wipers would come on by themselves, or not work set on intermittent, driver door lock would not work sometimes, ABS and brake light would come on sometimes, the problem was in the park switch inside the wiper motor. I replaced with wrecking yard wiper motor $44.95 w/13 month warranty. no more problem. check how many pins on connector plug, mine had 5 on the wiper motor side.Take the wiper assembly off of the metal cowl, 2 nuts, & I bolt, it is easier to snap the actuator pieces off of the wiper motor that way. replace the wiper motor, on the motor there is a board that tells the motor how fast to go, there may be a lose wirer and also check your plug on the motor make sure of no bad wires.
