Also check your multiswitch that runs your wiper blades if that switch is bad it prevents your circut from being made for your lights

Check the relay for you headlights. It seems like you are only getting juice when in hi-beams are on and not lo-beams. Or maybe the lo-beam portion of you headlights are burned out. There are 2 filiments inside the light, one for hi and one for low.

I had the same thing happen to my headlights in my 96 cherokee. it feels like it only clicks once and only the running lights come on. i pulled out the whole switch assembly from behind the guages and im either going to order a new one or pull one off of a jeep at a junk yard.

I would suggest that it is your actual switch.
It may work for the park lights, but when you pull it out the extra click for the headlights - that part of the switch could be faulty?
Hope this helps

One brake light and parking light not working when i hit braqke pedal

See if they function any differently with and without your headlights on. A common problem with these Jeeps is a malfunction within the wiring that causes a single break light to stop working when the headlights are on, yet work when the headlights are not.

Headlights work but no front or rear park lights

my jeep grand cherokee has had this same problem, as have many i've seen on the road. the tail light socket has contacts that provide the electrical connection. sometimes the contacts get weak and do not make good contact causing lights not to work. try removing the socket and pulling contacts up a little or also putting a small piece of aluminum foil around the contact will work.

How is a headlight switch removed from 1991 Jeep Laredo

To remove switch, first take off plastic dash covering, then remove the nut that holds the switch onto dash, or, if there is a seperate section around switch remove that first. To get the switch "button" out of switch, there is a small button on the top of the switch, hold it down and the button and shaft comes right out. Reverse to install

1998 Jeep Wrangler TJ Headlights working intermittently

I have a 97 TJ and the headlights wouldn't come on but the parking lights would. Funny thing was that if I pulled the brights to flash someone, the brights would work. I took out the old headlight switch ($26 at Checker) and they work again. When I pulled the switch there was one connector that seemed to be corroded. Hope this helps
