It could be, but there are other things to consider. first did you check the fuses? the connector plugs under the dash? the relays in the junction box under the hood? i would check these first and let me know of the results...

Why wont my wipers go off on my 2012 dodge charger

You may have a defective wiper switch or BCM, have the dealer scan the BCM, the wipers are computer controlled like everything else in the car.

I have 1998 Dodge Stratus. I had the ignition switch replaced because the ignition would stay on even though the car was turned off and key was removed. I would wake up in morning with battery drained. Now...

No, it would not be anything to do with the alternator.

My guess would be the body control module, or BCM-a minicomputer under the dash that controls a lot of electrical functions- lights, cabin controls, etc. Not sure if the bcm has anything to do with the air bags, though.

I first was thinking that somehow a part of the fuse panel (the part that has fuses for the things you said would not work) was not being sent power from the ignition switch. Those fuses are only sent power to them and their circuits when the ignition is in accessory or run. But that doesn't explain the headlights coming on by themselves...that is why I am now thinking your problem may be the BCM. You might need a pro to sort it out. Also check with the dodge dealer if any reprogramming is necessary when replacing the BCM. It's up under the dash somewhere, maybe behind the glove box. You would need a voltmeter or multi-meter to do any diagnosing. Also a wiring diagram, and a flow chart or troubleshooting steps...gets pretty complicated...it can be diagnosed to kind of see if the bcm is the problem, but that is often left to a shop or the dealer. Your car has some strange electrical problems. Did that have anything to do with the previous owner selling it?

Have a 1998 dodge minivan,PCM,was replaced. now door locks and rear window wiper comes on by itself while driving or parked. gas gauge will get stuck on empty line off and on. we were told can be BCM, is...

If it has something to do with the BCM , there would probably have DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes stored , An just replace a BCM would cause more problems , same with PCM's ! These modules need to be configured and programmed . Also ,without testing no one could say for sure that the BCM is bad . That would be a guess ! Door locks locking an unlocking could be a bad switch input to the BCM . Watch this video plus part 2 and 3

My 2007 dodge caravan windshield wipers don't turn off and stay at slow speed only

The wipers are controlled through the BCM (body control module) you must have that scanned to see what is going on with the system. You will need the dealer on this diagnosis.

1993 Dodge Dynasty. Wipers stopped working. Replaced fuse. Still not working. Replaced Body Control Module(BCM) located inside kickboard(passenger side). Still not working. Tried a second BCM, didn't...

BCM's are part number specific to your particular vehicle so unless you got from a dealer and had the dealer flash it for you none will work.

Caravan's had the same problem with their bcm's

Did you test the motor to see if it was working before you got the bcm's?

Did you test the wiper motor switch?

Also test the wiper motor relay.

I think you need to replace the Body Control Module (BCM), My newly replaced BCM (used) fixed my wiper problem but created a new problem which the left turn signal is not working now. Time to sell the van.

I had the exact same problem PLUS my power door locks and some guages stopped working. I replaced the Body Control Module (BCM) which is behind the inside fuse box and problem was fixed. I did get the part from a salvage as the unit from Dodge was $1000. Make sure you replace with same part number and disconnect battery before working on it. One downfall of changing BCM is I now have a new odometer reading.

BCM Unit in 1996 Dodge Grand Caravan

The BCM Unit had to re-learn the systems when I put another unit in. The Windshield wipers use to come on whenever they wanted to without touching the button and the air conditioning stopped working all together, but now it works like new. Everything works perfectly but the only draw back is that the odometer jumped from 94,521 miles to 120,000 miles when I installed the new BCM Unit. I know that the miles were lower but I am happy that the van is running great and everything works just as they are suppose to. I believe that the air conditioner unit did not get the right signal from the BCM and so the motor started to smoke. I ran the engine for 10 minutes and it went away. Thanks again for the advice and have a blessed day. TED
