Question about 2002 Ford F150 Regular Cab

1 Answer

F150 blower speed

My 2002 F150 XLT interior blower has stopped working on low speed. Do these blowers have a resistor like older cars or is the fan speed controller from the computer?

Ford f150 xlt, blower fan won't blow ac into cab of truck can feel cold air when on highway. But fan not working. Help?

Check to see if the blower works with the heater on. Turn the control to heat and see if the fan works. First check the fuse for the blower. If the fuse is good and the blower does not work with heat on , the blower may be bad or the speed resistor maybe bad.

Check for battery power and ground at the blower motor connector. If power and ground are both present, replace the blower motor. If not, you will have to trace the blower circuits, including the blower motor resistor. (second most likely cause)

1998 F150. Blower fan only operates at high speed. Nothing at low or intermediate switch settings. What is the problem?

Hi!!

The problem is the Blower Motor Switch/Resistor. Replace it. $20 at AutoZone or similar Auto parts store.

My low speed fan doesnt work on my ford f-150 1995 truck

The blower motor resistor is responsible for blower speeds less than high or full. The resistor is located on the passenger side underdash next to the blower motor, should be 2 screws and a wiring harness, replce the resistor and see if your fans speeds work correctly. Hope this helps, let me know.

Plan on finding a melted blower motor resistor. Usually when the blower goes single speed, the blower motor resistor is the cause.

You can find it on the passenger side, looking up behind the dash / Glove box area.
In this picture the passenger side kick panel ( where the inertia fuel switch is at ) is on the right hand side of the picture.

This is what it might look like when you get it out :

The blower motor only has the 1 fuse and blower motor relay on it. If it works on high, those are OK..

Parts should be less than 75.00 total from a dealer, and it is a metric socket and lay on your back on the passenger side floor repair, real easy and quick.

Just a picture to confirm what coly_coli posted, no new information

This is the wiring harness for the blower motor resistor, the actual resistor is mounted in the blower duct. If you follow the harness to the left ( towards the driver's side ) it is on the connector on that end.

You might have a bad speed selector switch, or your blower motor resistor is faulty.

There are 4 things to check out to pin point the problem: the switch it's self, the blower relay switch, resistor block, and the blower motor it's self. good luck
