There should be two bottoms on the buttons of the new window. The clips should be installed into there proper positions on the window retainers mounted to the two vertical window tracks. The buttons on the bottom of the window will line up with the holes in the window retainers. Once there lined up push the buttons all the way through until the clips snap around them.
You will need to remove the door panel to get inside the door, when a glass comes off the track the most common reason is that the window regulator has broken, when you remove the panel you will see if the plastic wheels or clips or the cables from the regulator have broken and if this is the case then replace the regulator.this car may use a metal type regulator and if thats the case then the regulator may not be broken it may just be off the track you will need to remove the hold down screws to the glass where it holds the glass to regulator then algin the glass and then rebolt it back up to regualtor.
I had the same problem on my 97 Ram. Take the door panel off, get some liquid nail, squirt just a little into the two clips that hold the glass. Then set the glass back into the clips and run the window up almost to the top so you can still get your fingers on top of the glass. Run it all the way back down again putting a little down pressure on it. Now run it all the way up, put the panel back on and let it sit for a few days before you roll it down again.
You have to run it up and down to make sure the clips are in the proper position, if yours is as loose as mine was it will slide around in the clips pretty easy.
There is a lose bolt inside the door. The windows is able to have enouigh play to slide to the side or the center of the track....ensure all bolts are tight via taking the side of the door off and peeling the weather tape back
try another auto glass shop. these tabs at the bottom are very common. BE AWARE, when taking off the old broken tabs off of the glass, there is always a chance of the glass breaking. then you would have to buy a new window. look for a company that has an address, a place that you can go for these types of problems.
