Question about 2003 Buick Rendezvous
The light has been on for 3 days straight...take it to the dealer this morning...they can't get the light to come on and they say that it didn't store a code during those 3 days either. ?
This is usually a problem with tire pressure or you may need new tires. The light is bothersome but does not seem to indicate any problem of a serious nature.

Our 2002 did the same thing. Easy cheap fix! Pull the wheel off and check the wiring that goes to the wheel sensor. You will find after removing a few inches of wrap, a broken wire or two. This could be on either wheel, so check both. Fix the wires back up and you are good to go. Hope this helps!

I had this happen to my car and paid entirely too much to the dealer to get it fixed. For me, it was the harness that you think it is, and it affected the battery- I needed to replace it- and also the computer. I'm not sure if mine was frayed, but I've heard that this harness has been known to become frayed and shorts out because of that, which is what I imagine causes the failure, and the shorting out is what destroyed my battery and fried my computer.

Tips for a great answer:
The AWD data list can be used to assist in determining which type of fault is causing the AWD Disabled Lamp to illuminate. with a scan tool, verify the above data displays are within specification.
AWD temperature disables can be caused by an open circuit.
Using a scan tool, select the Body - Instrument Panel Cluster - Special Functions - Lamp Test mode. In the Lamp Test mode you can turn on or off the instrument panel indicators. All indicators will turn ON when commanded on and OFF when commanded off. The AWD DISABLE indicator should turn on or off as commanded.
If the AWD DISABLE indicator is always ON or always OFF, replace the instrument cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
The AWD disable lamp illuminates when one of the following conditions exists for 5 seconds:
The PCM commands the solenoid ON and the voltage feedback remains high, B+.
The PCM commands the solenoid OFF and the voltage feedback remains low, 0 volts. This condition is present for 3 key cycles.
The PCM detects fluid temp is too high.
You need to have this hooked-up to a professional grade scan tool.
