Question about 1998 Toyota Corolla
Changed plugs engine runs smooth but when place in drive engine starts running rough
Did you use the correct plugs? When I mean "correct", did you buy them from a Toyota parts dept? Those engines are designed for a specific plug, and if you have the wrong ones in it, expect problems. many times I have had customer come in with poor driveability, and it turns out to be that they installed aftermarket plugs.

These cars are very sensitive to bad gas caps. Either they are in bad shape or not on tight enough.
If the light is still on or running rough, check the cap, clean it or replace it, tighten it.
To clear the light, remove the battery for a bit
