Question about 1993 Hyundai Elantra

1 Answer

Starting prblems I have a Elantra that I have recently been having problems restarting when I go a short distance and no one can tell me the problem. I have had the fuel filter replaced, spark plugs and wires, water pump, timing belt and the v-belt replaced and nothing. The check engine light does not come on and if you hold the gas down it will eventually start.

What is the life span of my battery. Recently having problems. After car is charged it runs for a week or more, then I have a dead battery again Mechanic tells me the battery is good.

The mechanic should have maybe told you the alternator is bad. You can have any auto parts store check your charging system for free, just drive there and ask them.

2004 elantra gt stalls and then restarts but will stall again

its the cam shaft or drive shaft sensor. since your probably trying to restart it over and over again you are resetting the computer so you get no codes. have a 2000 and it did the same thing tell i gave up trying to start it and took it towed it to my house and had it tested.

'91 oldsmobile cutlass ciera starts and runs fine but dies when driving short distance, restarts and runs fine but dies after another short distance.

Hello! I need the trouble code...The vehicle is an On Board Diagnostic 1 (OBD!)...You can not use a scanner on an OBD1...See drawing below of connector under the steering wheel...Short pins A to B...Turn on the key...Don't start the engine...Light on dash will flash the code ie...4 long blinks...pause... 1 short blink=code 41...each code, if more tan one, will flash 3 times...record the code # and send it to me and I'll fix the problem....codes are all two digit... guru...saailer

1999 pontiac firebird blowing gray smoke drives fine short distance but will not restart after parked was low on oil and had just had recent oil change and no noticeable oil puddles....master air flow...

Sounds to me like a cracked head and/or a blown head gasket. Is the car low on water in the radiator and if you live in an area that is cold do you have enough antifreeze in the car.

Won't start after driving short distance

I would check any recalls.   I had a 2000 Nissan Sentra and the crankshaft position sensor was the problem.  It may be a warranty replacement item.

Need to tow a 2004 elantra

Front wheels up in the air and rear wheels touching the ground be probably the safest,im not sure if they reccomend towing it with shift lever in N.Maybe on a short distance it would be ok.Dont take my word on that though.
