2002 Ford F250 has fuel leak of unknown origin?

I have a 2002 Ford F250, 7.3 L Diesel. It has begun leaking fuel from an unknown source. The top of the engine is totally dry from any visible point. The fan is picking up fuel from somewhere and slinging it all over the passenger side battery, and fender well and it's dripping down onto the ground from there. I can't see a leak under when I crawl under the vehicle. Where could a small fuel leak be coming from that I can't see from top or bottom? Thanks

fuel leaks out faster than i can put it in. it seems to be coming from the return line or somewhere in that area. it is on the passenger side on the front of the motor.

It sounds like your water seperator valve is leaking ..it is the valve on the back of the filter bowl .it is attached with 4 screws .and has a tube that drains on the right front of the motor..it can be replaced in a matter of minutes and costs about 50 dollars..

Sounds like similar problem I had. There is a valve (emissions) that is under technical service repair. I think this is one they fixed for free or low cost at dealership. Check for technical service

You could have a small crack on the filter canister off the right side of the engine. this should have a line that goes right in the bottom of it. either the line is loose or there is a small crack in it. i would check anything that has to do with your emission system as well....p-lease rate this thanks

You probably have an air leak in the fuel line. Air bubbles rise to the top-most area of the tubing and form a "vapor lock" . Find the leak, stop the problem! IT's probably a loose connection somewhere.

I have a 2002 Ford F-250 Diesel 7.3 litre Super Duty truck. It is leaking oil from an area beneath the fuel filter. What part would I need to repair this leak?

there are 2 high pressure lines that attach to the high pressure pump near the front of the engine left side. the o rings leak. I would get them from the dealer, or a shop that does a lot of Diesel work. Its not a easy job.

something seriously wrong here ,,have it checked out by a bosch diesel specialist as i think you have a faulty injector and it over fuelling because the nozzle is broke causing fuel to run into the manifold

if you are talking about the injector pump it will need to be bled, loosen the fuel lines at the injectors and turn theengine over till you get fuel out of them all close them and start engine it may take a little to get it started, then loosen each injector one at a time to purge any air left in the system

03 ford powerstroke fuel lk. on top of engine, behind the fuel filter housing, fuel sits on top of valley area. can't see any lk. must be slow. cleaned area, can't see any lk.

It ended up being the fuel filter housing drain / shut-off valve. waited for the engine to cool overnight/started engine & rechecked immediatly before engine started warming up & it leaked immediatly. It apparently was a cold only leak. thanks for your attention..

Fuel leak at front of engine at filter cap

these vehicles are notorious for leaking fuel at the valve on the back side of the fuel filter housing and when when the vehicle runs the fuel will cover the back side of the housing and run around the top kinda making it look as if the top is leaking. the filter kit for this vehicle comes with a new seal for the cap so if you replace the valve and replace the filter you should have no more leaks.

this is an oil pressure problem, either a sensor is not sensing enough oil pressure, or the high pressure pump is not building enough pressure(possibly leaking or head is leaking). this engine requires 450 psi minimum oil pressure at the injectors to actuate the injectors.

Diesel fumes in cab, '03 f250

If its raw fuel fumes check for fuel leaks on top of the motor. If its exhaust fumes you probably have an exhaust leak on the cross pipe at the rear of motor over the transmission. Take a telescoping mirror and flash light have a look. Might even slide under neath and take a peak as well. Make sure wheels are chocked with something first.
