A friend of mine has a 2004 Impala that cant get his blower to turn off, when the keys are out of the ignition. The radio will stay on as well.

I suspect an issue with 1 or more relays, but dont know for sure. Wish someone had a solution for this. I need a schematic to locate all the relays.

Your blower motor resistor is shorted and needs to be replaced it is located on the blower box and has 5 or 6 wires going to it there should be two small 7 mm bolts holding it down, you can pull the blower motor relay to shut it off for now untill you get a replacment resistor good luck and please rate -jeff

Sometimes it is NOT the resistor that causes this malfunction. Someone needs to post what happens if it is NOT the resitor... then where do you go?

I'm on my second resistor. Replaced the motor. Worked fine for a week. Pulled into work today and sure enough motor went full blast and now it's stuck on.

The blower motor in my 2006 mercury montego will not turn down or shut off. It got stuck once it was turned past 60 degrees. I've replaced the dash control panel and it done the same as the old one.

Check blower motor wire connector for voltage and ground. As you can see there is blower motor relay. The relay has a load side and a control side, two sides. They both have to function properly, The load side of relay is that line with arrowhead, voltage to load side, hot all the time. The control side of relay, right side in the picture needs voltage and ground to energize relay. The voltage goes hot with key on. The hvac module should control ground, the brown wire with white tracer is ground. With key on, if that wire is shorted to ground or wiring connector has a problem, the blower motor may run all the time, with key on. Shouldn't run with key off. It's been my experience that relays are usually dependable, but, you never know? At the blower motor top wire is voltage, bottom is ground, in my opinion. You can see speed controller in diagram.

My blower motor quit working changed blower and now it runs all the time even with key off worked fine before blower went out the fuse had also blown what could cause it to run all the time now

Most would say it is the Blower Motor Resistor or a relay..And possibly the dash heater control knob..However it is running all the time even with key off..This means it is getting power all the time from somewhere..It sounds as if wiring is crossed..Did you have to change wiring plug in connectors..?..

Blower motor runs all time

Either the blower motor relay is stuck closed and running all the time.Relay should be under the hood. Look in the owners manual for the location. Also does it shut off with key or continue to run, Most likely a stuck blower motor relay.

Blower does not run all the time

The blower motor is located under the hood on the passenger side. With the key in the run position and the blower motor switch set on high tap the blower motor with the plastic end of a screwdriver. If it starts to work replace it. If it doesn't start to work check to make sure it has power and a good ground.

Heater airconditioner blower motor runs all the time without ignition switch in run position . runs without the key in the switch. the only way to turn it off is to remove the fuse that powers the blower...

If you haven't fixed this yet, your Blower motor resister module is bad. It is located to the left of the blower motor and mounted in the A/C air box. Just pull the right kick panel down and you will see it.

Blower motor continues to run when vehicle is off

Your problem is the Relay which is encased inside the Heater/AC Resistor Module. This is a very common problem with GMC and Chevy Trucks. The Relay's return spring fails and the relay is held closed by gravity. The only fix is to replace the Resistor Module. I have a 2004 Silverado and have replaced the Module 3 times and the Blower Motor twice. The Orange wire feeding the Module is always Hot (12V) and feeds the Relay Contact for Highest Blower Speed. Hence the Blower runs all the time even with the Key off and removed.

2004 impala blower motor

The purple wire voltage, black wire is ground, at the blower motor. At the blower motor control processor, the red wire is a fuse protected circuit, hot all the time. With hvac off, if nothing on the speed control circuit, doesn't the problem have to be the control processor? Do you see it differently? Just my opinion.

Replaced blower motor, now runs continuously.

Run's continuously ? High speed , low , med 1,2, 3 . ????
Probably the high speed relay contact's stuck closed . The fuse for the high blower is hot at all times , low blower fuse is hot only with key on. It sparks becaused the motor turns on . If it had a short the fuse would blow . The blower motor relay is part of the resistor pack near the blower motor .
