4.0, 6cyl. 1994 Grand cherokee, about 3 times in the last week, the starter has to turn the engine about a minute before it cranks. All the other times it starts and runs fine. Fuel pump replaced about 3 years ago. Any help?

Before you spend alot of money on the fuel pump. First turn the key on and listen top hear if the fuel pump engages . you should here it turn on then "pressure up" the shut off. if you don't here it turn the key on and off (with out cranking the engine) util you do. when you here it engage it should start. the problem lies in two area one is the ignition swtich the other is the fuel relay... its a common problem..

run fault codes and check for cam/crank position sensor fault. check that the cam shaft is turning over ( broken timing belt) The whistling sound is probably air from compression escaping past bent valves.

94 Jeep wont start running after 3 seconds.

It could be the security system or maybe a crank sensor.

94 Jeep dies when coming to stop or traveling at low speeds

chances are the ignition coil or crank or cam sensors are intermittently cutting out. the crank sensor should be mounted on the transmission on the top left side. they are cheap and i would start there.
