Question about 2005 Volvo V50

V50 Sunroof rain leak

My 2005 V50 now accumulates lots of water in the rear passenger floor area. I have concluded that this results from a clogged sunroof drain, causing the water to drain inside the vehicle through the B Pillar. I suspect the drain clearing process is easy but I can't decipher removal of the B Pillar cover. Help!

Be very careful there are plastic clips i belive you must pull them either down or straight out get a putty knife behind there and look with a flashlight,,, also instead of remove the b piller you can buy some 14 Gage solid cooper wire and push it thru the drain to clear the blockage please rate -jeff

One side only or both? Do you have a sunroof? Clogged drain vent for sunroof, cowl, A/C, bad weatherstrip?

2005 v50 When it rains my car fills with water. It has happened on the driver and passenger side and under the seats. I saw water dripping from the glove box area.

Check all the seals around your windows and doors. Leaks could seep in through there drips at a time and fill the seats. also check the seals around your front windsheild.

I have water leaking on the right rear floor passenger side

Sounds to me like your issue is with condensation from your air conditioner. The condensation isn't properly draining, probably from a damaged or clogged drain hose.

Wet floors on passenger side after it rains.

Is it possible the water is actually coming from the A/C evaporator case, whose DRAIN IS CLOGGED ? The water produced by the A/C then leaks out of the case, down under the carpeting, then depending how vehicle is parked, can flow to the rear floors and carpet. Hope this helps

Water leak on fwd and back passenger side after every rain storm

pull your carpet up near the leak area and look for muddy body seams. it is possible one of the factory body seams are leaking- possibly in the cowl(under wipers) area, especially if it leaks when the car is sitting. there will be dirt/mud around the seams that are leaking. also you can check door seals by running the car on HIGH DEFROST with all doors and windows closed. spray around with a 50/50 soapy water solution. obviously bubbles will form around your leak.

Sunroof leak

there are drain hoses on all all four corners of the sunroof. to access the front ones, remove the front inner fender liners. you'll probably see a plastic grommet/spout that the drain hose attaches to. in the rear, remove the trunk liners on the side. you should see the drain hoses running down the inside of the quarter panel.

2002 Toyota RAV4 passenger side floor Water

Hi, we also have a 2002 Toyota Rav4 and developed a leak in the front driver's side of the car. After much research, we discovered that the drain wells from our sun/moon roof were clogged. If you have one of these, I suggest that you open the sun roof and look carefully. You will notice some tiny little holes in front and in the rear of the sun/moon roof tracks. Over time, these become clogged with dust and debris. You need to find a long, sturdy piece of thin wire and run it down the holes. To test if you have properly unclogged these, take a small amount of water and pour it down the holes. You should see water coming out of the drain wells under the car around the rear of the front tires. Hope this helps.
