Chances are the distributor / crank angle sensor is the problem, its a common problem with probes as i have found out , i own a 1996 gt 2.5 v6 and i have gradually narrowed it down to these,

Or do the HEI mod... the probe gt distributors are prone to burning out real quick. Goto www.probetalk.com or www.mx.com and they have tons of info on the forums. Mine runs great now

Sounds like your immobilizer is giving you trouble i don't think you'd need to reprogram for a distributor if it worked for a week, your only option is bring to dealer to have immobilizer checked out please rate -jeff

Engine cut out as i ddrove an wont start, its got

Probes/Mazdas have issues with their distributor you might pull a wire and check for spark. There was one time i even had spark and still had to change the distributor, you might be able to find a local used solution instead of new just make sure they have some kind of warranty.

Just bought 1991 Ford Probe lx v6 won't start

If you have spark and fuel (either via the injectors or spraying fluid into the intake), and still no evidence of firing, it suggests your valvetrain may not be working. If the valves can't open, the fuel cant get into the cylinder.

Do (or have done) a compression test. You may have a broken timing belt/chain.

How to put the sparks plugs back in to a ford probe gt 2.6 v6

They make a special elongated spark plug socket that can reach down inside far enough to reinstall them safely. The cost involved is usually $8 to $10 depending on the store

93 v6 probe gt will not start

These V6's are notorious for bad distrbutors. They get hot and a circuit opens and the engine loses spark. Buy a new or one with a warranty. Used ones have the same problem....
