I fix the problem. it was the hot wire that goes from the main relay that went bad

i had the same problem. to start the car i jiggled the main relay as i turned the key and it would start. but a few days ago the car died as i was pulling in the gas station and it won't start again. i got a new relay and put it in but it still wont start. any suggestions?

My car will stay on as long as I turn the key once I let go thinking its started it turns off. I replaced everything, all the belts the alternator, distributor battery fuel pump etc... could it be a wire in the ignition or just the ignition?

    car stopped running, no fuel

I have spark and fuel, the car turns over but wont start. I've change the relay and still no start. Would it have something to do with the timing.

Just had the alternator changed. Car sounded funny upon starting yesterday, and now won't start at all.

Sounds as if the wires on the fuel pump are unplugged or broken,or maybe a bad fuse, fuel pump relay.

The fuel pump usually has it's own relay.

) Unplug the main relay and then turn the key from off to ON(II).

2) Use a jumper wire or paperclip to jump terminal 1 to terminal 7 in the main relay plug. Does the fuel pump run?

97 honda accord lx keeps dying and won't stay on. I replaced the battery, alternator and starter. It turned on but just stayed on till it drained the battery. what could it be?

have someone turn the key while you listen for the fuel pump to come on in the fuel tank. it should only come on for a few seconds if not than your fuel pump is bad.

Since the engine cranks, the battery, starter motor/starter motor solenoid are most likely
good, so suspect everything else on the list. When you narrow it down, re-post with a
more specific question about that particular component, since 100s of components must operate
nearly perfectly for a vehicle to actually start.

Priority Action Part Type -- Cause
1 Inspect Battery -- Battery Discharged or Faulty.
2 Inspect Battery Cable -- Corroded, Broken, Shorted or Poorly Connected Battery Cable.
3 Inspect Battery Cable Connector -- Broken/Corroded/Loose.
4 Inspect Fuel Filter -- Clogged or Dirty Fuel Filter.
5 Inspect Ignition Coil -- Faulty Ignition Coil.
6 Inspect Wireset (aka Spark Plug Wires) -- Worn, Damaged or Faulty Spark Plug Wire(s).
7 Inspect Spark Plug -- Incorrectly Gapped or Fouled Spark Plug(s).
8 Inspect Starter -- Starter Motor Faulty.
9 Inspect Fuel Pump -- Low Fuel Pressure.
10 Inspect Solenoid Switch -- Faulty Starter Solenoid Switch.
11 Inspect Fuel Pump Relay -- Faulty Fuel Pump Relay.
12 Inspect Fuel Injector Pressure Regulator -- Faulty Fuel Injector Pressure Regulator.
13 Inspect Ignition Switch -- Improperly Connected or Faulty Ignition Switch.
14 Inspect Starter Drive -- Faulty Starter Drive.
15 Inspect Fuel Injectors -- Dirty or Worn Fuel Injectors.
16 Inspect Fuel Pump Strainer (inside fuel tank) -- Clogged or Dirty Fuel Pump Strainer.
17 Inspect Engine Control Computer -- Incorrect Operating Information Being Delivered and Sent From The EEC (faulty computer)
18 Inspect Fuel Tank -- Fuel Tank Empty.
19 Inspect Carburetor -- Carburetor Flooded or Faulty Choke.
20 Inspect Distributor Cap -- Worn, Loose, Cracked, or Incorrectly Installed Distributor Cap.
21 Inspect Distributor Rotor -- Worn, Loose, Burnt contact surface

My repair man says that the car will not start at all he said he changed the started and alternator gave it an oil chnge and tune up also took it to his otther shops and his other guys could not fix it...

If engine rolls over, then it isn't your starter, a faulty alternator will drain the life of your battery even though a new battery is replaced. Secondly if engine does roll over, and over, then you can point out that it is either electrical or fuel. First up, check your fuel relays, and main fuse. If all is good. Then when you put your key into the "On" not the "acc" try to listen if the fuel pump is coming or making a hiss sound within the first couple of second of doing that. If nothing is hear, then it can be a faulty fuel pump or fuel relay. To see if it is a fuel relay, check the fuse box where the fuel relay is located and see if there is other relay of the same and swap it. If the fuel pump is heard turning on, then it is the fuel relay. If not, and the fuel pup is heard turning on but nothing is working. Then it could be your ignition coil. To test the ignition coild you can take one of the spark plug socket with the spart plug in place and place the spark plug 1/2 away a medal surface such as the engine cover and see if any spark is made. If not and you are not sure still.... you can bypass your fuel pump and use fuel starter through your intake. If nothing, then it can be your ignition coil. This isn't a solution but maybe some suggestion.
