Turn ignition to "ON", slowly press accelerator to the floor three times within five seconds, wait a few seconds and you will hear three tones, the "Change Oil" light will turn off. Turn the ignition to "OFF" and the light will be reset.

Good luck..

Change oil light won't go off

It must be reset, consult your owners manual for the reset procedure. If you do not have the owners manual go to the GM owner/customer website and download one, it is free.

I have a 2005 pontiac grand am and had my oil changed 1000 miles ago and my "CHANGE OIL" light came on. what could be the problem?

Hello: Whoever changed the oil may not have reset the oil life indicator. Turn key on (engine off) push the accelerator all the way to the floor three times within 5 seconds. That should reset the oil life.
