Question about 2000 Buick LeSabre

2 Answers

Shutting Down I had a Buick Lasabre for years, it got to the point where it kept shutting down on me, the mechanics would put it on the computer and find nothing, the fuel sensor was replaced over and over, well I got rid of that one and got a 2000 Buick Lasabre, and now here we goooooooooo yesterday it shut down on me right in the middle of the road, after about 20 minutes it started right back up. Same situation as my first Buick Lasabre. This car only has around 70,000 miles on it. I do not want to take it to the Mechanic to have them put it on the computer and tell me there is nothing wrong, or they cannot find the problem, I have checked the battery cables, they are clean and tight so this is not the problem. Do you know of Buicks to have this problem? Thank you for your help.

We have the same problem. It kept stalling out and got to the point where it would take 5 times to get it started. and eventually found that a MAF sensor was partially to blame. It is a Mass Air flow sensor that adjusts the Air/Fuel mixture. Also The battery was reading full charge on the voltage but it was putting out very low amps. Apparently all the fancy gadgets need a certain amount of amps to run everything properly. We changed the battery and sensor and car ran beautifuly at 140,000 miles.

check the fuel pressure from fuel pump it may be bad. its a possibility that the coils maybe getting hot and shutting down engine. but check the fuel pump relay in fuse box. to see if this is your problem. it could be getting hot and shutting down, just replace it.is the check engine light on ! if so you can go to auto-zone and they will scan it for free of charge. to find problem code. with OBD-II scanner. good-day !!

it's probably the crankshaft position sensor. these are notorious on the 6 cylinder gm engines. tell your mechanic to diagnose the car and stop changing parts

How to set preset radio buttons on 95 Buick LaSabre

There may be a SET button and when she finds the station she wants press the SET button, then the preset button she wants it on. Otherwise like you say, just hold the button down until it beeps or the sound comes back. Its hard to tell because different years and models did it different ways.

Changed spark plugs in 97 buick lasabre and now it cranks and runs, but white smoke coming out. Is that blown head gaskets? Does it have anything to do with the fuel pump my mechanic put on 3 weeks ago???

You need to check the oil with the dipstick (wipe in down a few times) to see if it looks like a chockalate milk shake. If coolent has made its way into the oil you have blown head gasket. The fuel pump which is usually in the gas tank in most gm vehicles would not cause white smoke, if it failed you car would not start because your engine would not get any gas to the injectors
