Question about 2007 Toyota Sienna

1 Answer

2001 Toyota Sienna AC stops at idle.

The AC stops running at idle speed, but starts working fine as soon as you start to accelerate. I've been told by KWIK KAR that AC system needs to be totally replaced. Cost for service at KWIK KAR $107.00.

Tell Kwik-Kar that they are full of ****. The Sienna A/C is virtually bulletproof, and I have NEVER had to "replace" a system. That being said, I would guess that the freon charge is low. Open the hood, turn on the A/C and look at the sight-glass next to the radiator. Do you see any bubbles? If so, the freon charge is low. Get a qualified A/C tech to hook up same A/C gauges & read the high & low sides of the system, that result will give you the avenue to persue.

2001 toyota sienna ce, runs good at idle, takes long time to get up to speed (1 mile to get to 40mph), when at 50 and going up bridge, it will slow down 10-15 mph. if accelerated quickly then it will seem...

I would change the transmission filter.if clogged it will slip and loose power on steep upgrades try that it is inexpensive. If that don't help you may need a new transmission.

My Sienna starts and revs the RPM's up to 2000 then idles at about 1200. It will constantly surge while driving at speeds under 55. Could this be the fuel pressure regulator?

Yes could be... also the engine should only idle at about 600 when warmed up and 1200 on cold start up so get it checked out a any good garage...

2000 sienna stalls, loses power and engine sounds muffled when I accelerate. idles at only 500 rpm at stop sign and runs rough

After about 100K + miles the idle air control valve (IAC) begins to collect carbon deposits that interfere with the movement of the spring-loaded valve. You will not be able to clean this without removal and dissembly of the IAC body. Use an emory cloth or fine sandpaper to remove the build up around the valve. This should free it up to rotate without binding. This is a temporary fix, of course, and will either require cleaning again or replacement of the valve. Getting to the IAC requires removal of most of the intake upto, but not including, the intake manifold. Total time is approximately 3-4 hours, but worth it. Good luck, and I hope this helps.
