This might be simple, or not. If the starter motor is off sentered or slanted then it will get stuck. How do you make sure this is your proble??? Take a broom stick, have another person inside the car, and when you try to start the car carefully tap the starter motor with the broom stick... if it cranks the the motor needs to be replased. Other solutions... Fuse, loose main battery cable conection from the starter, or folty ignition swith.

Car wont start...battery seems fine....get a loud ticking nose when trying to start....pretty sure its the starter. how can i be sure and is it hard to change?

hello user, did you check the ground on the engine? if that it fine then try to turn the key on and don't start the motor, just disconnect the red wire coupling which goes to the stater and direct connect it to the battery +ve terminal. See if it starts. if it dose he install a selonoid inbetveen the stater and bettery. the problem will be fixed.

Where is stater moter located

What is your make and model? For example, an old model vw beetle will have the starter motor located at the rear of the car attached to the engine via one of the 4 mounting bolts.

The remte control key is not responding with the car

Hi abdumi0f,

Firstly, open your glove box and make sure Valet Mode is not enabled, if it is not, follow these steps.

Step 1: Open drivers door and leave open.
Step 2: Lock and unlock the driver’s door using the power door lock switch on the door.
Step 3: Insert key into the ignition.
Step 4: Turn key to on position and return to off position. (IMPORTANT - use ON position NOT ACC position). Do this 3 times within 10 seconds. Leave key in the ignition.
Step 5: Open and close the driver’s door 3 times. (Door should be left open after this step).
Step 6: ECU should respond by locking and unlocking the doors.
Step 7: Press any button on remote #1 twice. ECU responds by locking and unlocking the car doors.
Step 8: Press any button on remote #2 (etc.) twice. Each time the ECU will respond by locking & unlocking the doors.
Step 9: Remove the key from the ignition and the ECU will respond a final time with a series of door locks and unlocks. You're done!

Hope this helps,

Lazaruselite

Ford 2002 focus

I've got an 87 CRX and had the same problem. It started by just dying on the road, but would start back up. The problem got worse until eventually it just cranked over and over but did not start. I went nuts checking all the obvious...coil, distributor, fuel pump. Somebody told me on some CRX models there is a fuel cutoff valve in the event of a wreck. I don't have one on mine but you may have one bad on yours. I eventually tracked my problem down to the ignition switch. It provide power to the starter for cranking, but as soon as the key was released, it lost electrical contact. Hope some of this helps. Good luck.
