02 ALTIMA..TROUBLE STARTING, CUTS OUT, EVEN SHAKING

HELLO!.I have a 02 Altima with 111K miles on it, had if for 3 yrs w/ no problems until about the last 4-6 mos. I did have that sensor recall, and it was replaced. But here's the deal...the car is using water, I have to put some in it about every two weeks, now when I start it, it idles very rough, sometime to the point of shaking. now it is getting to where I have to crank it several times before it starts. this morning when I started it, it is making a wierd noise, almost like there is a piece of plastic hitting the fan..(sorry guys it the best I can come up with) kind of like a propeling sound. I can give the car a gas for a few seconds, and the noise stops after that. Could this be the head gasket or the cadalyst converter causing these problems??? It did show a #3misfire, so my husband replaced the spark plugs, and the coil...that didn't change a thing....one more thing, last winter the heater stopped working(blowing cold air) and local nissan mechanic said it was a hose in the heater coil stopping up..so he blew it out, and the heater was fine...but sometimes, it i press the gas hard, i can hear water flowing pretty loudly through the dash..please tell me all these problems are linked to one issue and not 10!!..Should I keep it and put money in it, or get rid of it??
Thanks for your help!!

My advice is get ride of itand the reason is if it's using water there is a reason, that being that your headgasket is blown. it's seeping water into the cylinders and the intake thus the hard starting. if the water was leaking into the cab you will smellantifreeze it will have a unmistakable oder. now with 110,000 miles your decision is whether you think the vehicle is worth it i can't make that decision for you however you do have plenty of life left in the car but you will have to spend at the minimum of 800.00 to replace head gasket and the intake as well and hope that you don't have warp heads if they are aluminum. the sound you are hearing is probably the cooling fans on their housing sometimes that happens it's an easy fix.. please rate this and if you need more answers just reply back to me..good luck

Hi Nichelle, Take the vehicle for a diagnostic scan. If the engine sounds smooth and is running well, I do not believe you need an new engine. What is more likely is a defective fuel pump or fuel regulator. A very common fault on Nissans is the mass air flow sensor, which sounds as if it is the problem with your vehicle. Regards John

1994 Nissan Altima shakes while idling

Broken or worn out engine mounts will cause allot of engine vibration in drive at idle, reverse also, change all 4 the mounts, not just the 2 broken ones. As far as slow acceleration no mounts will not cause that, Have you reached the 100,000 mile recommended tune up? have you ever replaced the fuel filter, this is required every 30,000, let me know.
