Question about 1994 Nissan Sentra 4-Door

1 Answer

Not quite sure what is going on... goes.
Nissan 94 Sentra - Manual Transmission - 4 door

Problem One:
When driving for over an hour on the interstate at a speed of 6o mph and above the car will begin to shake uncontrollably. If I keep it at 50-55 mph and below there are no problems. Perhaps an alignment issue, but not sure since it only happens under those specific conditions.
Problem Two:
When shifting gears, clutch pushed in, the car will just die. I can almost feel when it is going to happen. Most times it occurs when I break or am going from a high speed to a low or stopping speed relatively quickly.
There are appr. 195,000 miles on this car, so I realize it has seen it's day. But I'm trying to make it last for as long as it can. I change the oil regularly and keep up with regular maintenance.
Thanks in advanced for any tips you might have.

I have an automatic with the same problem. Between 45-50MPH the car seems to lunge. If I speed up or slow down the problem goes away. Plus, it idles rough. Odly enough, the idle also fluctuates when parked and turning the steering wheel as to sugest too much strain on the engines power. Sometimes it will even stall. I have had major fuel system service and a major tune up within the last 6 months with no remedy.

Nah, I have over 203miles on mine. Still has a way to go. Check your plugs for the dying. For the shaking, try a tire rotation. Could be the tires as well. Have you hit any curbs recently?

Does the 1992 Nissan Sentra have the same 1.6 L engine that the1994 Nissan Sentra does?

yes, 91-94 have the same engine. There may be differences in the computers or sensors, so I recommend you use all of the electrical parts from the original engine that came in the car. Please let me know if you have any more questions and thanks for using FixYa.

Trying to figure out where to put transmission fluid for a 1992 nissan sentra xe.manual transmission

U have to get ur car to a LiFTER and unscrew the PLUG on the side of the transmission and u could fill the lubricant in that hole.

Opening that plug at the bottom of the transmission means ur going to drain the old lubricant and have to put a NEW gear oil!

At the age of that Nissan, it really needs a GOOD new slicky fluid! additive to go w/ it is GREAT!

Hope the slips everything up!

No heat in 94 nissan works it is just

This sounds like the thermostat needs replacing as long as the radiator has the proper coolant level. If your vehicle has a temperature guage watch it to see if it is at normal operating temperature after the warm up period. If the temperature goes up and down or doesn't reach what is the normal temperature that is the problem. Normally a bad thermostat will stay open which causes the engine temperature to be much cooler than normal thus no heat.

How do you remove the door panel of a 1995 Nissan XE Pickup

Not sure about the 95, but to remove it on my 94 i just pulled on once corner till the fastener poped out, then worked slowly around removing each fastener. Be careful as the the door pannel is quite flimsy but if the 95 is the same as the 94 it should be fairly easy to remove.

Dexron-III is what's used in almost all vehicles (except some older fords and chryslers), but you can check the owners' manual to be sure (or call the nearest Nissan dealership).
