Did you check the connection in the module in your steering column? did you check for a blown fuse? try these first , if the fuse is ok then you have an issue with the module it is not making contact when you move the lever. this can be purchased at a Napa or Oreilly's for alot less than at a dealership. please rate this

My reverse lights do not working have checked bulbs and fuses

check one of two things check to see if there is a solid earth on the bulbs with no resistance and that the gear select wires are activation corectly (ie park should turn your brake lights on (sometimes only your handbrake turns them on )
if all this is fine and you are still stumped you coould fillow the bulb wires back to the realay and test the wire if its in good working condition i would recoment rewiring a relay to activate when you select reverse and supplu 12V+ to the bulbs

Reversing lights not working

It may be a bad back-up light switch on the transmission. Look for a two-wire connector on the transmission or transaxle, although it may be included in a wiring harness for the transaxle. If you find the two wires for the reverse light switch, you can jumper the two wires together, and with key on, the reverse lights should be on, verifying a bad reverse light switch. Screw it out and replace. But if still no lights, there may be a wiring break or a wiring problem going to the lights.
Good luck.

One backup light works and one doesn't on a 88 chevy 1500. New bulbs and bulb holder.

Connect a Test Light between the ground wire on the light socket (bulb holder) and somewhere on the body (a clean/bare metal surface) and then put the transmission in reverse.
If the Test Light lights up, you have a bad ground (broken wire, bad/corroded connection). If it doesn't then use a Multimeter to check for power on the Positive side of the Socket, No or Low voltage means a bad wire. Battery voltage is generally 12.45 (without the engine running) and 14.5 (with the engine running) So if you're getting less than that (by more than .3) you have a poor connection or damaged wire

lopen your tail light assy... check/replace bulbs common problems bulbs filament grounded if you have a tester, test brake light and reverse bulbs on driver side only.... if not check for lose groundline on wire of reverse light... if you have a lose ground on reverse line, the reverse light only lits up when braking becoz it shares the ground line on brake...

Tail lights don;t work

Did you check the bulbs?

If they are ok, check the fuse. If that's ok make sure the wiring is in good condition and there is a good ground connection.

Tail lights don't work, but brake, flash and hazzard work.

generally when the fuse is ok and the bulb is ok the problem is corrosion of the ground wire and connection to the frame, or corrosion in the bulb sockets. for starters go to any auto parts store and get an aerosol can of contact cleaner especially for auto bulbs and connections.

Reverse lights dont work.escort van.1.8 none turbo.2002.

With engine off and key on, emergency brake set, place the gear selector in reverse, using a volt ohm meter check for voltage at bulb terminals. If voltage is present then the switch is working and the wiring to the lamp is good. Next check the other terminal with the ohmmeter to ground for connection. Sounds like a bad ground.
