Remove the door lock slide and will be a 7mm screw behind it and one under grab handle. also pop off the bezel around door handle. door panel will lift up and come off then you can get to window switch wires. look at the screws holding the window regulator sometimes the bottom screws come loose and cause rattle

I have a 2006 chevy impala and the passenger door wont open. How can i take the door panel off while its shut?

According to how close the seat is to the door, it may be easier to pull out the seat to facilitate removing the panel. Sadly the retaining screws may be impossible to get to with the door closed. I'm thinking the Impala has clips and the screws will all be accessible on the face of the panel. If you can get all the bezels and armrest/door handle hardware loose you may be able to pry up from the bottom to pop the panel out of the slits the clips are in.

2008 GMC Sierra pickup. Driving and all of a sudden it shut off then turned back on; the doors unlocked then locked again. Now it won't do anything. Checked the oil and it was empty - no oil at

Running with no oil is death for the motor ( Seized). When the alternator stopped working because the engine stopped the door lock control opened the door locks as it said you were below the required speed to have them locked

Dash reads passenger door open when it is closed and interior lights stay on while driving

The door switch has been integrated into the latch mechanism on many GM vehicles, but I believe the switch can be replaced seperately. You will have to pull of the door trim panel to get at it,so you can probably do it yourself, depending on your skill level.

The passanger door on a 2006 mustang gt convertable was pushed forward and when u open the door it catches the front quarter pannel. So I need to move it back a little bit so it does not catch. ??

take a small piece of wood 1"x 3" x about 4" long and place inside door jam at hinge , slowly close door until it puts pressure on wood,... push door shut gently and remove wood and try shutting door , this is what they call redneck auto body. to do it right you will need to remove hinge and add washers to back side of hinge plate so it moves hinge out thus pushing door alignment back if hinge is welded on add washers to door side where hinges attach to door.

The passenger side front door has a terrible draft noise when we are moving. We cannot feel a draft at all, but something is not right. The seal is obviously not working correctly. What should I look for...

Is the seal correctly fitted? Does the door rattle when it is closed properly? Does it look like it is not properly shut when it is closed and if you push it from the outside is there a bit of give? If so your slam plate needs to be loosened and pushed in a bit to hold the door tighter, not too much or the door won't close at all. Another thing you can look for it a badly fitting window frame. If there is too much space between the car body and the window frame wind will whistle arond the gap. To see if that is the culprit, seal it with duct tape and take it for a ride. If that is the problem, open the door.wind the window fully down, stand between the car and the open door and carefully pull the top of the window frame towards you. If you can movw it in by 1/2 inch it will make an effective seal when the door is closed. Go carefully though.

Need to get door panel off to replace side view mirro on passenger side.

You'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. then pop off the cover beside the mirror and remove the bolts

I have a 1998 Sierra 1500 Pickup. How do take the door panel off.

DO you have power windows or manual. If you have standard cranks then you have to remove the clip holding it to the mechanism inside. if not then there are several screws in the door panel itself. remove all of them. Pry out the bottom of the door there are plastic buttons that should stay with the panel. then lift the door panel straight up the top is hooked inside the window trim. its stiff. but it comes out. The buttons are reusable.
