Re: spark plugs in a 1997 chystler town and country
You should have either 4 or 6 spark plugs.
your spark plugs should be in either one of 2 places.
1 while you are stadning in front of the car look down there should be
some what looks like black caps with thick wires coming from them. in
this position you plugs will be torward the bottom of your engine.
2.look to the right or left of the engine. you should see the same
thing black caps with wires comeing out of them. thoses are you plugs.
now all you have to do is take one wire off at a time. to do that grasp
the lower part of the wire shoudl be the black cap do not pull on the
wire it's self you might break the wire. from there you should be able
to see the top of the plug.

Go into Youtube and use the following search phrase: "Dodge Caravan Plug Wires." There are about half dozen videos that will show exactly how to do it. Remember, the Chrysler Town & Country and Plymouth Voyager are the same vehicles.
if the transmission is working as expected I would say that the plug is for the later harness and may have no use in the vehicle. To be sure have an accredited transmission shop check it out But as I said if there is no problems apparent then leave it .
there is a tool available go to autozone for a small deposit they will loan you it remove the top 2 motor mounts these look like dog bones located right on top run from engine to radiator install tool this will pull the engine forward enough to reach the plugs hope this helps
I had the same problem in the past with the lights. I repaired it by removing the the dash panel and re-soldering the pins where the harness plugs into. I am currently having the stall issue. in my research it seems to be the crank shaft sensor. I was told that the crank shaft sensor and the cam sensor work together and have decided to change them both along with the gas filter.
If this is intermittant , check the wires at the plug. Wires tend to break there the most. To check, and I know this is difficult for the crank sensor, start the car and wiggle the wires as close as you can get to the plug. If the plug plugs into another plug wiggle both sides.
Let me knnow Randy
I just changed the rear spark plugs on my 1997 Chrysler Town & Country this weekend. It took me about 7 hours to do everything. When you replace the rear spark plugs, its a good item to replace everything i have listed below. Listed below are the items i changed while i was in there:
Valve Cover Gaskets All 6 sparks (the rear are the hardest) I used the Bosch Plat. +4 Intake manifold gasket (only cost $3-4) Throttle body gasket. Air filter Spark Plug Wires
I also bought some throttle body cleaner and sprayed the throttle body to clean it out. When the throttle body is dirty your van can stall. I took pictures of everything i took apart, which i can email you to help you out.
