Question about 1995 Isuzu Rodeo
I'm having a slight problem with my rodeo. it has the ticking noise that most rodeos have and i've been told to try an additive to my oil but what do i use? also i have a squealling and a voltage problem that seem to be related. When voltage becomes normal the squeal stops. Suggestions please.
Your alternator belt must be glazed or loose or both (hence the low volts), replace it or adjust it if it looks ok.
As far as the ticking goes it is the the cam followers, there is a TSB SB00-01-S009 released SEP 2000 that deals with this issue, I beleive it calls for replacing the cam followers with an improved part, this would be expensive like all Japanese cars the parts are very pricey.

Try this for the ticking it works in mine do an oil change with valvoline max life high millage 5/30 oil a can of six cylinder restore and a fram high millage oil filter it will coast about 30 dollars to do it yourself or 58 at wal mart.

Tighten your altanator belt and dont worry about ticking its no running if its not ticking you cant even quiet it down it wont stop

It could be your fan belt of the alternator, they are related as you describe, if the belt is squealing, the alternator is slipping and not charging properly then your voltage is not normal, if the belt is not slipping, then the squealing stops and voltage goes normal.
