What this sounds like is a problem with your fuel pump. This could be checked buy doing a preasure test which will tell you if pump is on it's way out. Then of course you would have to replace it yourself or have it replaced. GOOD LUCK.

put an engine flush in first . run the engine on tick over .till oil is hot then drain it. do an oil and filter change may have a build up of carbon in the engine .the flush should deal with that .use 20/40 oil .

You say the timing belt is intact, so I assume you have checked compression.
Have you checked base fuel pressure and are you getting spark to the plugs ?

Well it probably is.
Replace the fuel filter if that don't help then your fuel pump could be shot.
They are not to bad to replace.
if you get the Haynes tear down and rebuild book
for that make..it will take you step by step.

I have a 1994 Dodge Intrepid 3.3 V6. It will act like it wants to start but then dies, it is getting gas, but it still dies. Why won't it stay running?
could be fuel pump, fuel pump relay, bad ECM, or bad fuel pressure regulator.
