The easiest & quickest way I have found a vacuum leak and I am in the business is to get a can of carb cleaner. When the engine is running start spraying along all your vacuum lines and connections. Also along the throttle body or carberator and around the intake manifold. As you're spraying if the lidle of the engine changes then you have found the general area of the vacuum leak. From there on you can begin to narrow down the location until you find the source of it. I hope this helps and good luck.

Cressida overdrive on auto

On my Trooper, I know its not a Toy, but the gear changes and more importantly the overdrive operation is controlled by a speed sensor on the tail end of the gearbox usually where the speedo cable is. A fault with this may cause all your problems. Try and locate the speed sensor from a handbook or call to a Toy specialist.

2000 ford escort se vacuum leak

Just go to any Ford dealer parts dept and they can show you diagrams of all the parts in the engine vacuum system. They will be the only ones that will have this part so you have to go there anyway.

Vacuum leak wont pass i/m test

This is a different problem than a normal Vacuum leak. The Evaporator emissions lines have both fuel vapors and vacuum flowing through them. If the leak is in the hose system, the method used to find the hole is called a "smoke test". This requires a special machine which pumps a visible smoke into the Evaporator hoses.

Leaks as small as a pin hole can be found and patched. The gascap is also a part of the system and a bad cap can cause a leak too. The gascap is about the only thing you can try before a smoke test. You could also have a bad gastank which could also vent Vacuum from the system. Smoke would also escape from the tank to reveal a leak during the smoke test.

I hope my solution is helpful.

I have a leaky power steering hose, the leak starts by the second crimp. What kind of hose and fittings do I need to replace it.

Your best bet is to get the hose assembly from the Auto parts store. Those are high pressure hoses made of special material that are resistant to the corrosive nature of Hydraulic fluid and the pressure that builds in those lines. The connections where the hoses connect to metal connectors are compression fittings and difficult to replace under the best of circumstances. When you identify the parts you need Auto Zone and Advance Auto can show you the parts diagram so you can make sure you get the correct line.

The service engine soon light came on. I went to auto zone and they found trouble code P1456. How do I fix this?

hi, dear friend, this is an obd2 trouble code table. it can help you understand the meaning of code.
The best way to fix a P1456 error (small evap. leak) on your Nissan is to have a "smoke machine" test done on it. This machine is hooked up to your car and pushes smoke throught the evap. system. The smoke will shoot out of the leak and indicate its precise location. You can also try getting a new gas cap and make sure that it clicks 3 times when you close it after filling your tank. Also, NEVER leave your car running when your fueling up as this can cause your "service engine soon" light to come on. The best choice however is doing the smoke test as this will elimiate any guess as to the location of the leak. Nissan dealers can perform this smoke machine test for you for about $90.00 and can save you alot of money by pin-pointing the leak so you don't keep buying parts you don't need.

HI. I re-charged my a/c and a couple of days ago, and now it is not blowing cool or really cold a/c? is it because of the outside temp being close to a 100? (it is above the 90's) or is it because there's...

There are leak detector cans of R-134A and leak sealers available at the auto parts store. If you know the compressor is working but it's not kicking on or staying on, I'd try the leak detector first. It has a dye in it that will show any leaks in the sytem. Hope this answers your question. Best of luck.

Vacuum leak-P0171 2000 Toyota Echo. Need vacuum diagram

A P0171 code does not indicate a vacuum leak; it indicates a dirty mass air flow sensor. This device is located between the air filter box and the intake manifold. Locate it, unplug the wire harness, and remove the 2 screws that holds it onto the intake pipe. Look down inside th sensor, you will see 2 small wires, that are probably covered with fuzzy things...using a spray cleaner, such as brake cleaner, spray the 2 wires until they are clean and shiny. Do NOT use compressed air, that will damage the sensor. When it is clean; reinstall it and drive it. The computer will recognize the now clean sensor, and your troubles will be over.
