In my opinion the reflectors get dirty easly and this affects the lights brightness but they're easy to pull out and clean .Check for corroded contacts this is also caused of not working and check all the plugs ,fuses etc.are surely in tight. There are multitude of upgrade looms and bulbs and the like that will increase the brightness of your lights however so maybe check them out or try the simple things like replaced the bulbs in the low beams lights.driving lights.
Hope this may help you;

Check the fuse box first. If uses has gon it is likely that you have a short. Try replacing them and see what happens.

    If the fuses are ok, then it is possible that a connector to different lights have gone lose. Check the wirings.
    If you still cannot find the fault then you need to test the wiring for continuity, using a multimeter, test from fuse box to lights first then from fuse to instrument panel.

    If fuses are ok, check also the connector behind isntrument panel. If it get lose or wiring is bad , you lose more lights at once.

    If lights controls are all on same lever it can also be a problem with lever wirings.

2007 toyota solara, high beams ok, low beams are on but I can't see the road. have replaced bulbs and relays. fuses are good. dealer says to replace both headlamp assemblies is their best guess.

I DON'T KNOW. $1000 ASSEMBLIES ARE PROFIT MAKERS FOR DEALERS. I THINK ASSEMBLIES ARE JUST PLASTIC LIGHT SHADES AND NOT RELATED.
VISUALLY COMPARE PART NUMBER OR LOOK OF OLD BULBS WITH NEW BULBS. CHECK WITH CAR MANUAL.
WHAT IF THE LIGHT SWITCH OR RELAYS ARE FAULTY.?
AT NIGHT LOOK AT RUNNING LIGHTS. HAVE SOMEONE TURN ON LOW BEAMS.THEN HIGH BEAMS TO BE SURE.
YOU HAVE 3 LIGHT LEVELS. YOUR RUNNING LIGHTS AND HIGH BEAMS ARE WORKING BUT NOT YOUR LOW BEAMS. LOOK IN YOUR OWNERS MANUAL FOR THE HEAD LIGHT FUSES AND OR RELAYS TO SEE IF THERE ARE SEPARATE ONES FOR HIGH AND LOW BEAMS.

1996 80 series landcruiser no low beams high beams are fine no spotties all work when pushed into high beams exept spotties and no high beam light shown on dash... Fuses all good blown relay that fused...

Hi Grant I believe that the fuses you are looking for are 7.5 amps and they are found in the fuse cabinet under the hood. If that fails try replacing the H4 bulbs, which I'm susspecting may have blown! Regards John

Headlights on reg beam dont work - what to do

when you switch your signal arm push forward for hi beam pull back low beam if you have regular beam and both beams are present then most likely it is your head light hand switch!! if fuse was blown you would have no head lights at all,so i would start with the swich good place to begin!
