I have the same car and had the exact same problem. there is a switch under the brake pedal in your car. it contains a spring to let your brake light know you are pushing it. the spring is most likely stuck within the switch. i had to remove mine and fix the spring then reattach it under the brake pedal. this switch is only a dealer item, so it is best to try and fix the spring if possible.

Brake light problem - if bulbs and fuses (#34 and #43 in rear fuse panel) are good, then only other possibility are the circuit boards where all the tail lights are located.

Noise coming from rear is the mode control actuator in the rear HVAC unit, it is trying to move a stuck blend door.

My 2005 Chevy Aveo's brake lights are out. The bulbs are fine. It may be a blown fuse. I tried to check my fuses but don't have a clue as to what I'm looking for. Can you help please?

pull the fuses out 1 by 1 and check to see if any of them are broken.you will be able to tell, if the 2 spades on the fuses are connected then the fuse is fine and if there is a break in the spade connection then it is faulty.the fact that all of your brakelights dont work indicates that it is most probably just a fuse

Brake light fuse popping

have you got a normal bulb (2 pins) in the place of a brakelight bulb (3 pins) that would pop the fuse... Also replace both brake bulbs as one may be shorted internally.
