Question about 2000 Dodge Stratus
Approximately how much does a total brake job on a 2000 Stratus cost? I've had it 7 years and have never had any work done on them. It was a rental car and had about 26,000 miles on it when I got it. It has over little over 100,000 miles on it now. I figure it time I had the brakes checked.
If you just need pads and shoes or pads all around the parts should cost about 50 bucks. if you need rotors and or drums the drums will be about 40-60 a piece the rotors 25-70 a piece. if you take it to a brake shop it will cost you about 400-500 for an all around job. they aint cheap. if you can find a friend are a mechanic to do it for you it will be about 150- 300 . remember this is just a rough estimate. please rate this

Yeah, if you buy junk parts from a local parts store and get some inexperienced wanna-be mechanic, you might get away for under $100 or you could have it done by a real shop and get a written warranty and peace-of-mind for about $50 more. Any truly good mechanic isn't doing work on the side for extra money because they have a real mechanic's job that pays them enough so that they have a life outside of work. If you're into sky diving, I know a guy who sells discount parachutes . . . Interested?
