While driving the car a rattling noise appeared and I pulled over for a minute and then continued. The noise appeared again after about 400 metres. What could be the problem. i've checked the wheels and they are fine.

These are the possible solutions to your problem:

1. ... can be coming from suspensions - have your suspensions greased up. just tell your service center / mechanic to apply "greasing" into your suspension.
2. ... can be coming from your transmission - replace your transmission fluid.
3. ... can be coming A/C - have your a/c system cleaned. the aircon technician will replace some seals and fittings there.
4. ... can be coming from anywhere under the car - go to a service center. ask them if your TIE ROD and BALL JOINTS are still working properly.

then your pulling the transfer & taking it apart

Hi Graham,
I think you should look at the heat shields often attached to the exhaust, sometimes when at idle they can vibrate and rattle and make a hell of a racket. Have your mechanic take a look at these it shouldn't cost very much if that is the problem

My 99 lexus gs400 is leaking a brown fluid. Not sure from where as It has had a transmission flush and radiator replaced. It also makes a weird rattling noise when started in the morning.

re rattle on start up,turn engine off then start again,repeat again if rattle continues.if oil change needed do it as my hydraulic lifters rattle in low temp or when oil old

Engine rattling

Hi, First of all if you are talking about the 2 fans in front of the radiator, they do not come on until the engine warms up and gets to a certain temperature. As far as this rattling noise, I would have someone help you by giving it gas as you try and locate the noise. It could be something loose not related to the engine. I am not sure about the rough sound you heard, but I would keep looking for it if this continues.
