Have you done a leak-down test on the fuel pump? if not have it done, this is a common cause of your issue.

Making ticking on cylender head

Ticking sound on top of engine usually points to sticking valves. Run through a good fuel treatment for a couple of fill up, it may just clean up some of the carbon and gunk, have the valves checked. Fuel treatment works folks, will even keep many of your sensors in good working order. Use premium gas when you do the treatment..

My 98 civic wount start I put some gas treatment in and drove it around parked it and the nextday went to start it and it wount start

Might be a fuel pump. The gas treatment shouldn't have anything to do with it. Was it running bad before you put the gas treatment in it? Take off the gas cap and put your ear next to the opening and see if you can hear the fuel pump kick on and off. You will need someone to urn the key to the on position while you listen. Don't try and start it, just turn the key where it would normally be when it is running. If you can't hear the fuel pump kick on and off then that is probably your problem.

I have a 1989 Ford Tempo. It hasn't been started for about a year now when I went to start it today it would begin to start and then fail. I checked the fuel filter and it seemed to be fine. Any ideas??

If it has not been started in a year, you might want to either drain the old gas out (because gas can go bad) and put fresh gas in and try again, or go to an auto parts store and pick up some fuel treatment/restoration. The treatment will NOT be a permanent fix,but should allow the car to start. Now the bad news. It could be the fuel pump, whci is a hard thing to change. To know for certain if it is the fuel pump, here's what you do:
Get in like you are going to start the car, but leave the driver door open, there needs to be silence.
Turn the key to just before the engine would start (the radio comes on and the AC starts blowing, but the engine is off)
Listen carefully, if the fuel pump is working properly, you should hear a hum coming from the back end of the car by the fuel tank. If you hear this hum, that means that the pump was turned on and primed. If you do not hear the hum, chances are that the fuel pump is shot.

I would recommend changing the gas first before you try to start it again, because if the fuel pump is good and the gas is bad, that bad gas is being shot into your engine.

I hope this helps. good luck

add two cans of Heat gas treatment to it with a full tank of gas to eliminate the moister that is left in the fuel system

2001 sebring recently started sputtering at low rpms. Started after a recent fuel fillup. Tried dry gas and STP gas treatment. No change. Could this be a clogged fuel filter?

It could be but sounds like some bad gas, try using some octane boost because the gas you got might not have enough octane in it to run your car. So try using Octane boost and no its not the same as a gas treatment. gas treatment just cleans your lines and intake. Octane boost puts more octane in your fuel which is needed to run the car properly so try that.

2005 equinox will start and stall

Sounds like a fuel filter that gets clogged with dirt and then gets unclogged when you put the fuel treatment in your gas tank. Love your car it needs a little TLC. Replace the fuel filter and make sure all fuel line connections are tight.

My son filled the tank of his 97 buick century and within 10 miles the car started bogging down (and stalling) on acceleration. The behavior is the same regardles of whether the vehicle is in motion or at...

dirty fuel fiter, yes. But also certain models require mid or premium grade gasoline. regular unleaded has more water in it than premium. Hense the pinging. When was the last time you have your fuel injectors cleaned. Try adding a gas treatment like STP gas treatment/fuel injector cleaner, that should help. If it continues then its the fuel filter or the fuel pump is also going out.

1991 thunderbird v8 car keeps stalling out when u hit the gas, its not the fuel system.

it could be a vacuum line or the fuel filter itself put some STP gas treatment in a half a tank of gas if the condition improves change the fuel filter

Runs Real Bad....

I'm having similar problem with mine, and I think it's possible I got some bad gas. Maybe from an old backwoods gas station with condensation in their tanks, or maybe condensation as mine had been sitting for weeks at a time recently. I may try to completely drain every bit of gas, and change the fuel filter, and throw some fuel treatment in when I put new gas in. Gonna check a few other things first, though.
