Tip & How-To about Infiniti G35

How to reset AIRBAG SRS Light on 2003 - 2006 Infiniti G35 Coupe

Hi, on most vehicles, the airbag light should come on for at 6 seconds, and then go off if the system is working properly. If there is a fault or a problem in the system, the light will remain illuminated, or flash continuously. If the airbag light does not work properly, some vehicles have an audible tone that sounds indicating a problem with the airbag light system. When the light is on (or the tone is sounding), the airbag will NOT deploy, even in an accident.
The flashing light on your car is telling there is a problem.

This is a little easier To reset the light simply turn the iginition to the on position, (you dont need to start it). All the lights should stay on for thier diagnostic check. As soon as the airbag light goes off, before it starts flashing, immeditatly turn the car off. Repeat this 3 or 4 times (turning to on then off) and the light should go away

airbag lights comes on and dont go off

Sadly, you will need a scan tool for this reset. On most vehicles, the airbag light should come on for @6 seconds, and then go off if the system is working properly. This website gives you the procedure for diagnosing and resetting airbag lights on the ...scanlist.aspx page listed below.

The flashing light on your car is telling there is a problem. On some vehicles, the light is flashing a two digit code. Your vehicle will require a scan tool for the proper diagnosis (and not the one at Auto Zone---it needs to be airbag system specific, like a good body shop or the dealer). Here's a site that will explain everything you need to know about airbag lights and resetting the system. Once you know the code, you can most likely repair it yourself. There are fairly easy procedures that most people are capable of repairing.
Airbagsolutions.com has the fault code charts to tell you what is wrong! Although it's a pay site ($14.95/day), it's a lot cheaper than going to the dealer.

Some vehicle manufacturers accommodate systems without a scanner (like Toyota, Lexus, Nissan, Infinity, Honda, Acura, Ford, Lincoln, Mazda & Mercury) . Most all other vehicles require a scan tool for the diagnosis. Here is a link to the list of vehicle and scanner requirements.

Airbag light is on

The light come on when the system detects a problem and sets a trouble code. You should have it diagnosed by a trained technician. The airbag system is not for do it yourselfers.
The light is on because there is a problem with the air bag system. When the air bag light is on the system is not working and will not deploy in the event of an accident. When the air bag light is on the system has set a code(s) in the computer A scanning device can retrieve the code(s). The code(s) will give you a clue where the problem is. Many auto parts stores will read the code(s) from your vehicles computer for zip if you purchase the parts necessary to repair the vehicle from them.
you have a false signal coming from the sensor harness.
It means there is an issue with your airbag. You should have it diagnosed and repaired.
If the air bag light is coming on then you have a problem with the SRS. Seek professional help.

SRS ( supplement restraint system)if your light is on while driving, it means there is a malfunction in the system somewhere, which you should have checked
The light comes on because the airbag computer has detected a malfunction. You need to have the system checked for codes with a scan tool. You then need to have the cause repaired by a trained technician. The airbag system is not a safe place for do it you selfers.

Either the bags have been deployed or there is a problem with the computer/sensors periods
If it's the computer/sensor the bags won't deploy. get this checked out

96 accord srs light is on - how do i turn it off

Hi Gary,

"SRS" stands for "Supplemental Restraint System". This includes your airbags and your seatbelt pre-tensioners. The only way to find out why the light is on is to scan your airbag module and retrieve the fault codes that will be stored to let you know which part of the system is failing.

Please also note that whenever the SRS light is ON, the safety systems in your vehicle WILL NOT WORK in the event of an accident. It is highly recommended that you get this properly diagnosed and repaired by a trained service technician as soon as possible.

Unless you have had specific training and have access to the proper tools and equipment required for the supplemental restraint system in your vehicle, I DO NOT recommend trying this at home. (accidental airbag deployment can be fatal.)
