how to fix leaking reservoir

I believe that many have encountered small leaks in the cooling system, which end up becoming a nuisance both the "puddle" that it will make the floor of your garage as well as the verification according to the coolant level.
Many give up tips to eliminate this problem, for example, place egg whites into the radiator. This in an emergency situation can even "troubleshoot" but the problem is after the nice little "odor" produced by the egg.
Already exists on the market that act on the system eliminating small leaks. We will highlight this matter Veda Leaks Stop Leak Petroplus / STP
Product Features:
Not affect the components of the cooling system;
Does not cause blockages;
It can be used as a preventive product;
It can be used with other treatments to PETROPLUS cooling system.
The package has a StopLeak 350 ml, and must be added to one vial of the product to systems with 8 liters of liquid.
Tips and care: Whenever you open the reservoir cap radiator, make sure liquid is not overflowing. If this occurs, close the container again, start the car and let it run until the drive fan. Had the same problem and stop leak worked temporarily. Eventually had to replace the radiator because the plastic header was cracking. I made a video showing the problem and how to replace the radiator.

air in cooling system

Make sure the engine is cold and and remove the radiator cap. Top off the radiator and coolant recovery tank. Put the cap on the recovery tank but leave the radiator cap off. Start the engine. Monitor the temp. gauge about every 20 seconds. Carefully grab the upper radiator hose in 90 second intervals and very gently squeeze it a few times to help release the trapped air.The coolant level should drop visibly into the radiator as the thermostat opens. Now bring the rpm up to about 1800 and HOLD it there while you top off the system and then tighten down the radiator cap completely before you drop the engine rpm. I recommend using a friend to help with this procedure. Then let the car run as you check for the upper hose to feel warm and solid to the touch. Watch the gauge. The reading should be steady. If it starts to overheat, shut off the engine and wait for it to cool down. Repeat the procedure if necessary

how do i change antifreeze on my 2006 impala

Find the drain plug on either of the coolant end tanks on the radiator and open it (If you can't find it you can remove lower hose and it will do the same thing) Close the system back up and begin re-filling, start the engine and turn the heater on full hot and continue filling. Leave engine running and add coolant as needed . When it reaches operating temperature it will often try to first overflow a bit then level will drop as thermostat opens. At that point, re-fill again till full, leave running a few more minutes and then put cap back on. Check over for leaks and re-check level after it cools down and top off as necessary. Never open your system when it is hot.Keep pets away from anything you spilled it can kill them if they drink it.
