Put the control (on the driver door for your side view mirrors) onto the passenger mirror position put the car in reverse, mirror tilts down and shows you the curb! (this only works on some models like the 3.0 not sure of what year of 1.8t)

On truck the 2004 GMC Truck Sierra you have on the dash a driver information center (DIC) on the dash with the speedometer. It is controlled on the steering wheel. You can turn on both mirrors or the passenger side only to look at the ground when you put it in reverse.Or turn them both off. Also on this truck you can set the mirror control switch on the driver’s door to the middle setting. Not left side or the right side, in the middle. Then press the control pad to the left and both the mirrors will fold in. Push the pad back to the right and both will fold back out. I love this for tight parking spots.
On the BMW 5 series E60 (and I assume others) the mirror selector switch in the driver mirror adjustment position enables the passenger side mirror to pivot down when the car is put in reverse. Moving the switch to the passenger mirror adjustment position disables this function. Leave the switch in the passenger location and the passenger mirror no longer pivots down when in reverse.

This is a question (OK?)...about XC70,
It's a high ride & there's lots of space between top of wheels & wheel arch; anybody tried lowering, 2 or 3 inches?
I don't go off road, I live in the country & our roads never get gritted never mind cleared so I need the 4WD to prevent going into fields as I did in my XJ8.
