Tip & How-To about 2007 Maserati 425

Correting the model information

The 425 is not a 2007 model - it dates from circa 1985. It has much in common with the 220, 420, 228 & 428. The exact model(s) available varied by country. The 224, 424 etc models are very similar models but with an intercooler (which boosts the power to 240 BHP on the 424), slightly revised suspension and other small changes.

The 280 was a 2 seater based on the same chassis, engine & running gear but with the engine uprated to (surprise!) 280 BHP.

However, those horsepower figures don't give the true picture. What's more indicative of the performance and driveability of these vehicles is the almost flat torque curve from around 1100 rpm (varies by model) all the way to 6000.

I owned a 420 for 4 years and I still reckon it's the best - and safest - car I have ever owned or driven - and there've been a few!

2014 F150 WONT START AFTER LEFT T BONE COLLISION CANT FIND INERTIA SWITCH HAVE TURNED KEY ON AND OFF LIKE MANUAL SAYS ALSO GUAGE WONT WORK

Common Locations
  • Although the location of the shut-off switch varies by year and model, Ford has stuck with a few common spots over the years. If you own one of Ford's pickup, SUV or van models, you can find the shut-off switch under the dashboard on the passenger or driver side, depending on what year it was built. If you own one of Ford's car models, you may find it located in the trunk compartment. Refer to your vehicle's owner's manual for the exact location.

The 1985-1992 MKII (second generation) VW's have a common problem with the shift linkage wearing out and causing issues like you are experiencing. There are kits that are available to replace the worn parts that vary in cost according to the level of the kit. The simplest pieces to replace can be done with only a screwdriver and will take about 1 minute to do. They are the top two pieces in the image below.
